Okay, the weekend is set June 16-18th in lovely Washington DC.

As it was last year, the reccomended hotel is the Bethesda Hyatt. This is a great hotel with a perfect location. (Right above the Metro Station).

I'll be looking for volunteers to provide floor space for those who are poor. :)

I'm poor, and I'll be extra poor at the time because of having recently paid off the 30D and paid for a prom for the Spawn. What time does the Metro stop running. My plan was to actually drive home that night, eventhough it's two hours.

The metro weekend schedule is:

Open: 7 am Saturday and Sunday

Close: 3 am Friday and Saturday nights

We would be willing to host the Friday night GTG. But we live about 6 miles from metro and there is no real public transportation to speak of that goes to our house.

Is there an itenary posted yet? We're relativley local, and I have inlaws 1/2 an hour from the city, so we'll probably stay with them. But I have to work Saturday during the day. :( Just wondering what different things are going on...

Itinerary is going to depend on who all is coming in when. Depending on group size we may end up having a couple different options for things to do.

Me and a friend would like to join in on this, so please put us on the tentative list. We may just come for the overnight day.

I'm out... just don't feel like it this year. For those who enjoyed the time up at my place last year, I'm glad I could help.

I agree - I was sorry I missed the sunset last time. :-)

Ditto that. I can't believe more people weren't out shooting at sunset last time.

Unless something interferes with my schedule, I plan to be back again this year. ;-)

I was in DC yesterday and thought about hanging until sunset. But, once again, I over did it on my leg and got too much sun. I had fun though....eventhough I was all alone. ::::sniff, sniff::::

I agree with shooting at sunset but it was really nice to have the monuments all to ourselves and that happened after midnight. Also remember the Jefferson Memorial went dark around midnight.

I'm tweaking things around a bit this year so we can all play at the good time of day. :)

So quick headcount- how many folks have reservations in place yet?

We were supprose to be making reservations? I thought you said to wait... Oops!

Take me off the list...car engines supercede fun at the moment. :(

I am probably not making this one either - scheduling conflict. Have fun!

I'm still likely for this one. My SIL moved to Bethesda, so no reservations necessary. ;-)

I'll make reseravations few days in advance. I may just come in for the night part only.

Hi:

I am new here. I live in Baltimore and would love to come down. I would only be able to get into town later in the afternoon on that Saturday. Do you all have an itinerary set?
05/27/2006 01:40:31 PM · #96
In times 2. (me and leeleeo).

Right now the boy has reservations at the Grandma and Grandpa inn for Saturday night, so mommy and daddy can go play in the district. I may need to work Saturday during the day, if so then we probably wouldn't be in town for Friday night, but if I can get out of it, then we could be in for Friday too.

Just tell us when and where and we'll make all the activities we can.

A secondary problem developed in the last week.

There's been a series of three attacks on the Mall in the last week. All at gunpoint, and in some cases not just assaults on a single individual. If there's another one this week, I'm going to have to consider postponing.

It's INCREDIBLY rare that attacks like this happen, and even more rare that they actually make the news. So when it does happen, I take it pretty serious.

I might come for part of it, but I'm not staying the night.

Okay, we are gonna offically have to reschedule. The boss just called. She fired someone. This means I have to get my schedule reorganized. Poo!

I've got the afternoon of the 17th off, and I'm up for some twilight shooting if folks want to. But as of now, I have no time to get the final scheduling done.

Sorry. :(
