Yay!
As a birthday gift to myself (it's on monday), I just ordered the Canon XT kit from Onecall (by the way, I recommend them to everyone), and a sigma 70-300mm from Amazon.

Sooooo excited! :)

Just needed to share :)

Happy birthday! I joined the XT ranks last night myself--it's on the way from Beach Camera.

As a small aside to all the Canon talk... I just checked out the Nikon D50 with 2 lens kit at Onecall, and it's $200 less than most other places! Maybe not as low as ebay can be, but holy crap!

Thank you very much, everyone!!! :)

I'm really excited to be in the club ;)

And sdunsmoor, OneCall is awesome. Their prices are great, and the customer service is excellent. They called me a week after I bought my last camera there (the Sony V1) just to know if I was satisfied.

Plus, if they lower the price up to 7 days after you buy something, they will credit you.

I highly recommend!

Wow, where did you get that deal?

I'm about ready to get an XT myself (had an AE and AE-1 many moons ago). How was Beach Camera to deal with? I'm a little nervous of dealing with less known online retailers....

Look at the dates. She posted that back in March of '06.

LOL! I had the same question and was about to post it. Thanks for clearing it up. I guess she wasn't all that thrilled with the XT, eh?

LOL - good catch (havent had my coffee this morning)
ok, so the XT is not good enough for her eventually, didnt last even a year. I think everyone should just get the top-of-the-line if they could afford it - save the hassle of stepped-upgrading, hehe
