As usual, I'm late, but after reading the thread (about 1's) almost entirely, I just wanted to say that; As a new member/photographer/entrant who has received average of 4.5 on the few entries I've made, I find that the votes and comments ENcourage me to do better, to be more creative, etc. However, if I were to receive just 1's, I might be DIScouraged. Even though I have also read that one should not be discouraged by others opinions, I would, and would probably never post again. I'm just glad to see that even those of you who score high/ribbon regularly are sympathetic/considerate to us beginners!
