Yes, they are just snapshots. I snapped these of my kids at the park today.

I want to straighten the horizon in this one, but end up with a nasty black triangle at the edge :

And this one is too dark, but I love my son's expression. If I lighten it, it looks all washed out :

Can someone (or several someones) photoshop them for me please ?

I'm going to be back with one more, but I need to go upload it first

Okay - and I'd like this one to look nicer, as I'd like to print it out and send it to my MIL (the Grandma in the photo).

Just a quick edit - applied fill flash at a level of 24.

If I had the original I would make a new layer with just him in it and appliy the fill flash to just him and not the whole image.

I sent you a PM...also, I really like the off angle horizon as it is...I wouldn't even try to fix it!

I was thinking the same thing about the swing shot, the tilt goes well with the motion and subject. The green pole is a bit distracting, but the horizon is ok, so maybe a different crop to get most of the pole out of the pic.

How about this one:

Post processing work done:
1) Shadow/highlight adjustment:
- Shadows 50:50:30
- Highlights 20:30:30
- Color Correction +20
- Midtone Contrast +20

2) Duplicate Layer
- set to Soft Light at 65%

3) Flatten

4) Local Contrast USM
- Apply Unsharp Mask at 11:40:0

5) Sharpen
- Apply Unsharp Mask at 40:0.8:3

I'll try a different crop on the swing photo - the green pole is the swingset, so kind of hard for me to avoid. I was *trying* to pan the camera as she was swinging - didn't work as well as I'd hoped it would.

Well, this is what I got... I didn't quite finish the swing one, but i agree with those that have said leave it... it looks great on the tilt... the other one i selectively applied a lightening curves layer to the face...

And here's one of the boy:

Post Processing steps:

Shadow/highlight adjustment
- Shadows 75:75:44
- Highlights 19:50:30
- Color Correction +20
- Midtone Contrast +10

Duplicate Layer
- set to Soft Light at 40%

Flatten

A little dodge-and-burn to darken the houses and fence and lighten the boy some more.

Light application of Neat Image to reduce noise caused by shadow/highlight adjustment

Local Contrast USM
- Apply Unsharp Mask at 11:40:0

Sharpen
- Apply Unsharp Mask at 100:1.0:3

Use History Brush to undo sharpening everywhere except the boy

hey just looked at the photo on the larger scale. couple of things from my p.o.v. k
1. the little boy is oversharp allowing some pixelisation to occur.
2. great use of the rule of third's but the focus looks to me on the house leavuing the boy soft is this correst, to fix this i would blur the house more leaving the focus on the little boy
is my thought's i find with shot's like this to have the focus on the person's eye's k
jope this helps cheers
