My screen name, stdavidson, stands for Saint Davidson because of my purity of thought and mind.

jbsmithana=J.B. Smith from Anacortes=jbsmithana

Pretty origianl huh? About as artistic as my photography. Oh so sad .....

With a name like J.B. (yup, that is for real, no full name) I've been labeled with lots of nicknames but most are not approriate here. LOL.

I know its silly, but I realized as a kid that it was a pronouncable word backward, so it became a nickname.

Just thought I'd share.

What's your nickname? How does it or does it relate to your DPC-name?

the Saj

= Jason backwards Nosaj. But then I dropped the "no"...and simply became "The Saj"

I figured this would be obvious but just in case it's not here goes

yanko = richard = yanko = richard

y = r
a = i
n = c
k = h
o = ard

:)

I'd wondered about your name! Nosaj I would have recognized 'cause I played MMORPGs with a Nosaj.

I picked up 'modgethanc' as a domain name during my senior year of high school when my father offered to buy me one and host it on his server for me for my 18th birthday, and we had just been studying Caedmon's Hymn in English class. Around the same time I was getting sick of a lot of other names I've been using online, so I figured I might as well.

People seem to forget how to spell it/are too lazy to type/say the whole thing, so I get 'modge' and 'mod' a lot as well.

As for 'Vincent', which I use offline, I decided after graduating high school that it would be awesome to completely change my name. I introduce myself to people as Vincent and they generally don't question it (although most people do a double-take, a lot are curious why, and a scant handful flat-out refuse to accept it and will only call my by my 'real', given name).

I get sick of names easily. I like to play around with them :)

Thanks to idnic for starting this thread, and getting me to consider a new username!

Thanks for the suggestions:

Bear_Music - Gray_Ninja
ClubJuggle - Gary Gnu
kawasttex - murkulus

At a previous job, I was mandated "murg01" as a login name, that encouraged me to make this image:

and write this article, "User Name Prisoner."

Unlike some companies, DPC doesn't force Borg names on us, so I chose "GrayGhost." This is not as clear as idnic = cindi = idnic = cindi. Anyone care to guess the connection?

Hmmmmmmmm dunno - it from LOTR - gandalf-ish refrence?

Gary --> Gray anagram
Mura(village)kami(top (part), head, chief, god, divine, paper, spirit) --> Ghost for alliteration

It's a little stretch, but I don't speak Japanese, and Gray Ghost has some other connections that I like, see below.

Gandalf the Grey is a good connection, especially with his reappearance in white.

John S. Mosby of American Civil War fame was known as the "Gray Ghost."
The Gray Ghost classic TV show was based on Mosby.
The USMC has the 531 Gray Ghost squadron.
"Beware the Gray Ghost" is an episode in the Batman animated series.
Gray Ghost describes the Weimaraner breed of hunting dog.
etc.

As you can see from my photos, when I need a model for a photo, I fold or cut one from paper. While a woody and a rubber ducky are on my shopping list, paper craft is still special, and origami is especially mathemagical.

When I was in high school I dated a girl that nick named me southern gentleman. The nick stuck and was spelled Southerngtlman I was going to use it here when I first started but felt it was to long of a name so I used my initials and birth year(SDW65). Then I had my name changed to souther_exposure because I mostly take pictures in the south(don't get the opportunity to travel much). If I would of known I was going to change my name to a long one, I would of kept my real nickname SouthernGtlMan.

Yea I thought about that after my name was changed. Didn't even come to mind before that. You are the second person that has brought that up and more reason for me to change my screen name again. I don't want people to take it the wrong way. Exposure does stand for PHOTOGRAPHY! :)

Nah, I like my version better - I've always seen your nickname as a shorthand for "Standard Deviation". Well, at least I remember your nick this way. :-)

Geesh Scott, how are we supposed to recognize you in posts if you keep changing your name? ;)

Are you in the witness protection program?? ;)
