Flipping through latest issue of NG Adventure magazine and see they have a photo contest. Not much of prize value (book) but neat to be recognized. Although I wouldn't have a chance, many DPC'rs here would.

Thanks for the tip, and the link, whatdewuc. If anyone is interested in entering I urge them to read the rules carefully.
Here's a quote -

"Entries become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned or acknowledged."

It would be quite prestigeous to win a contest sponsored by Nat Geo but make sure you go into the contest with your eyes open by reading all the fine print.

what's the point of entering a contest if you're not acknowledged when you win?

Are they saying that if you enter you lose your rights to your picture?

Did anyone do the Smithsonian contest? Have they notified the winners yet?

The Smithsonian is supposed to notify the ten finalists in each category the end of March. If you don't hear by April then I guess you didn't make it. I sent some in there. A friend was telling me about the National Geographic one but I haven't read the details yet. Thanks for the link!
