I shoot RAW (Canon cr2) only. I transferred from a Sandisk Ultra II 1G card to a Jobo GigaOne (40G) using the CF slot. I have both corrupted and uncorrupted files on the Jobo and they will both transfer to my hd thru usb. It seems to have been day specific, although on one day the images are ok if I open the transferred file, but not if I open on the Jobo. I use Canon's DPP and the thumbnail view the file will show up, although there are various pink stripes. If you try to open them, it gives the message - corrupted file can't open or the file will open but there are all kinds of color/pattern problems.

I lost 2 days of shooting in the NM area and the Jobo was purchased just for this trip. I did contact one company and their quote was about $500, then possibly around $300 and it was a recover all or nothing. While I would like to recover some of the shots, there are none that are worth that much to me. Any advice as to what I should use/do would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Dennis

I have used Bad Copy Pro ($40) several times now to recover corrupted and deleted files from compact flash. If your pewter sees the device as a drive this works nicely... There is a demo that you can download to see if it can recover your stuff.

Thanks, I'll give it a try.
