I have an opportunity to sell my photos in greeting card form at a gift shop. I have everything that I need but I need to know how to sign them. I am trying to remember what I have seen done in the past and I know that the front of the card, underneath the photo, has the photographer's signature in pencil. What about the back of the card? Other than a copyright notation, would you tell something about the photo? For example, would you put "Skagit Valley Tulips, Spring 2003" or something like that? Thanks for your help!

yes I think putting something about the photo on the back of the card is nice. People are always interested to know what it is they are looking at. :)

Congratulations on such a great opportunity to get your work out there!

Thanks Pam, I will have to hone my handwriting skills so that I can write a little about it too. It makes me nervous that someone asked me to do this but I'm also excited.

You might also want to consider adding your email and a link to your DPCPrints store on the back. For framed photos that I've sold, I have bought little printable adhesive stickers that I put on the back of the frame with that information.

Those stickers would probably not be appropriate for the cards, but the info is still relevant if you can add it somehow.

Plus, leave a business card in the store with all the info :)

Good luck, sounds like a wonderful opportunity!

Out of curiosity, how are you going to print your pictures on postcards? Are there printer kits, or is there a print shop that specializes in this?

actually, I am not printing directly on the card. I am having DPCPrints print out the appropriate size and I will adhere the photos to blank note cards.
