It either means you have 4 seconds to live, or he is asking you to bring them 4 copies of the photos.

WTF 4?

I could have lost my camera and teeth in a matter of seconds.

I love the comments on the gang sign.... lol. But it most likely might mean "double deuce". As for my most dangerous shot.... hm, probably me hanging out my window trying to focus this semi in my mirror while going 80mph on the highway. Not to mention "no hands!"

It means that he is a part of the "Nortenos" Gang. He is calling out his affiliation.

I'm not allowed to show you my most dangerous photo, or my wife will kill me (that's why it's the most dangerous).

This was probably the most dangerous... was walking through the woods in my backyard when I saw this guy slink up behind an evergreen. I snapped a couple shots and let him slowly pass. One of the scariest moments of my life I must say.

Well this one is pretty self-explainatory. And on top of that, you can see the huge supercell coming in from afar... not the best time to be on the rim of the Grand Canyon.

:)

during this shoot, I made the mistake of getting in the wrong place and was yelled at by a member of the swat team...it seems that I was in the potential line-of-fire. Yikes!!

WOW, some great stuff here!!!

I would have to say this was my most dangerous. I was on a REALLY steep and large embankment that was crawling with fireants. Not to mention I had the flu and was really weak and my equalibrium was off. I nearly fell down the embankment several times.

I did eventually lose some props to gravity, but was happy to make it down and home and was very happy with the entry :)

I also lit my hair on fire a few other times and was also stopped by the police on two occasions, but as for the most dangerous, I would say this embankment shot has to be it.

It was a case of shoot, jump in the car and if the shot didn't work out, tough!]

<== My most dangerous DPC photograph ever!

Here is my story...

I had a brilliant idea for the DPC "Despair" challenge when I woke early on a Saturday morning. I says to myself, "Self, why don't you drive downtown and take a bunch of pictures of some hungry, desperate, homeless derelicts hanging out on the streets... now THAT is "despair". That will be a sure fire ribbon winner!"

So, happy as a clam, I jump into my shiny new Accord, pop some Pink Floyd into the 6-CD player, and head off! I stopped into Starbucks on the way for a vente latte and then cranked up Floyd to the max!

Sure enough, there were lots of homeless people downtown. Great, I thought, that increases my chances of taking the perfect picture of "depair". I could hardly contain my glee at the thought of that blue ribbon next to my name.

I stopped my car across the street from a bus stop where a group of homeless were loitering. Perfect, I thought, the backlighting around them formed by the rising sun created harsh lense flares that made them look even more desperate. I walked around taking lots of pictures at all angles and they kept a wary eye on me.

Right after I took the above picture, the short guy sitting down wearing the black wool cap leaps up, runs directly across the street to me at Olympic 100 meter speed and stops about one foot from my face. With a crazed look in his eyes he screams, "What are you doing taking MY picture!".

Suddenly, it dawns on me he could be an escaped axe-murderer who would bludgeon Mother Teresa to death to keep from being discovered. I'm scared for my life!

I start talking REAL fast. I tell him I'd never take pictures of anyone without their permission and I will delete the pictures of him immediately. There was just one tiny little problem, I was so scared I could not remember how to delete pictures. So I turn the camera around so that he could see the LCD and pressed the frame advance button and weakly say, "See how easy it is to delete the pictures of you". He watches intently, his expression unchanged. I advance through all the pictures. Thank goodness the first one on the card was a flower. Finally, I give him the bravest look of assurance I could muster to convince him that they were all gone.

He just stands there glaring at me for an eternity. I'm frozen in place. My life passed before my eyes. I envisioned him grabbing my brand new camera to crush my skull just before stomping it into a million pieces on the ground.

This was it. I knew I was a goner. Then he simply says, "OK", then turns and walks away. As cool and calm as a guy with a giant Starbucks wet spot on the front of his pants can be, I make a hasty retreat to my car and speed away.

Went to the cemetary and this creepy guy was there behind the gate, saying...don't go...don't go.

This seemed dangerous at the time, but later I looked it up and it's a relatively harmless variety. (I'm as close as it looks, about 2" away in macro mode using my Pentax P&S, so don't expect anything real artsy.) Image

I've also been in situations where people came after me for taking a picture. The most surprising one was when I shot an image at the corner of Ashbury and Haight in San Fran -- it's apparently not the mecca of hippie peace and love that it once was! Two guys came after me demanding money for taking "their picture" even though they were not in the frame.

Many years ago I took a week and went up the coast of Maine, photographing all the lighthouses. I don't recall which one it was, but I had to bushwhack my way out to it for about a half a mile from the road. As I was photographing, I heard a screen door slam and looked up to see an old guy coming from the keepers house with a shotgun. Do you recall the guy from "Fletch" that sneaks up on Chevy Chase while he is looking for clues in the suspects house? Not only was this guy the spitting image, he yelled the same thing... "WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE!!!!" I ran like hell.

she's a killer... almost got me right after the shot was taken LOL

Those are all great! Some I wouldn't even think of doing!! However, can't wait for the rattlesnakes to start crawling and basking in the sun here. So far the only pic I have of one is one we killed in our backyard (sorry if that offends anyone, but my kid and pets play there) Guess my most dangerous photos were during hurricane rita...too bad I didn't have my new camera then, they didn't turn out with my old 2.1mp digicam though, could have been cool haha

Not sure if this was my most dangerous or most stupid shot? I did set fire to a table (indoors) another time I was playing with fire :(

This was taken from inside a moshpit for a band called Deathtoll at a punk rock festival in Lake County California.

The first images taken with my Canon 20D+70-200mm f/2.8 IS lens. As it meant I just blew more than $3,000 cash.
