Maybe we can find a ginormous mosquito to pop it for you

Oh, I've tried the 'popping' route with zero success. This baby is connected to my spine. Deep-seated.

Chicago GTG

A man was telling his co-worker one day that the company was transferring him to Chicago. He explained that he was going to quit before he had to move there.

When asked why, he replied that he was just too afraid of all the crime even though he would be passing up a big salary increase and greater benefits.

His co-worker said to reconsider and that Chicago was a magnificent city, with world class museums, loaded with a great history, close to Canada, good public transportation, etc.

Then he said: "Why I myself worked in Chicago for almost 10 years and in all that time I never ever had a problem with crime while I was working."

The first asked, "What did you do there?"

To which the other replied, "I was tail-gunner on a bread truck."

This sounds perfect.... 10 am we'll get the morning light that way...those who want to spend more time in the sculpture garden etc can do so ... adn those who have to leave for a formal :P can take off in time to spiffy up.
Departure time is hard to figure... as the grounds have so much to look at... and photograph...
Thanks p3 for helping out here with the maps, the coffee shop info .. and more info onthe sculpture garden :)

Guildwood it is!

Guildwood Parkway and Livingston Road there is a small strip mall that has coffee shop (right beside the Mr Grocer’s). How about we meet there over coffee and then we can move on. Does anyone want to nominate a time? (I'm ok early or late, but it seems about 10:00 is what works for most.)

Google Maps Link

I like the idea of Guildwood too. Meeting place? This coffee shop sounds good to me. I never been to this area before, though.

Taking pot shots at Chicago now....

Are we being challenged to a duel?

If there's any sculpture of religious themes it might work well for the Holy Places challenge :-)

The open at 9am, enough time to get back to the Guild Inn. :)

Oh man. My 1G cards cost more than that. What truck did they fall off of? My wife won't let me spend any more money on camera gear anyway.

I'm not sure how long we'll want to stay at the Guild Inn. Another interesting place in the same general area is Bluffer's Park It is right down at water level and has an interesting variety of photo opportunities (cliffs, beach, boats, lake, birds, etc.) Most importantly we may need some nurishment. There is The Dogfish Pubright in the marina that we can get some food and refreshments (suitable for all ages).

Here is a Google Map

Hi gang,

I won't be able to join you at this GTG, something's come up in the last few days. Also if you ever decide to wander in the downtown core, Contact 2006 is happening and there are various places, especially along Queen St, that are hosting photography shows. I'm part of the group showing at The Gladstone Hotel on Queen West.

TheToronto Photography Meetup Group is also doing a Contact gallery hopping on Sunday.

Have fun everyone.
