Would an oil lamp or a lantern be considered a moveable light source?

The way I interpreted it was the light source(s) had to be moving.

I am probrably wrong like always.

Yeah but a flashlight would be safer!

The way that I interpret it is that the light source needs to illuminate the subject and move during the exposure. I would say that the lamp would qualify as long as it moved durning the exposure of the image.

Only if you're moving while in flames!

here's some good examples of the "painting with light" technique. this dude used to post on photosig.com all the time and this is where i first learned of this technique.

i suppose i should warn that most of these are nudes.

also, if you're a member of photosig, this is his profile:

A local photographer uses painting with light for her night photography.

Check out the night photography and Japanese Garden night photography for examples.

This is going to be a little tough to be original as there were so many creative ideas in the last challenge. Basic editing is going to make it tough as well...
