Just out of curiosity, whether you are entering fashion or not:

Do you feel fashion shots always require a model? (A human one, at that!) :) If not, what differentiates a fashion shot from one that looks more along the lines of say, abstract or advertising?

The forum regarding costumes in this challenge got me to thinking, and I was hoping others would share their thoughts.

Also, any speculation as to why so few entries? Everyone waiting until the end, or just a lot of "duotoners" out there?
:)

Duotones is basically like a free study with only two tones, therefore it is bound to get a lot more entries than Fashion, which has a much smaller array of pictures that can be entered.

I think, that for the purpose of this challenge a model has to be in the picture. That's just the way I see it and the way I think most of the people on this site will see it. Who knows...I will probably get proven wrong...

I'm in Fashion btw.....should be good times.

i don't think it requires a model...but I do think in order to score well it has to do soemthing with fashion...whether it be make-up or a fashion bulding, mall...you know those kinds of things...

I don't believe it has to be a human model, as I have seen many pet fashion shows. But I do believe to make it come alive you need a model to showcase the items that you say are fashionable.

It helps with the wow factor. Would you rather buy from from a pic that shows the clothes laid out on a table or on a body that really shows you what it might look like on you or fido.

Yeah, but my cat didn't take too kindly to wearing a double strand of pearls, and dog refuses to wear heels (spiked ones, anyways...) :)

Well looks like your dog and cat don't want to be fashionable. I feel so sorry for my cat lucky. He gets dressed up all the dang time and just lets her do it to him.
