Scott Kelby has put out some awesome Photoshop books. Try PHOTOSHOP CS for DIGITAL PHOTOGRAPHERS.

All depends how comfortable you feel with Photoshop. I personally would go for Photoshop for photographers by Martin Evening.

The Scott Kelby book had me rolling my eyes far too much with his shite sense of humour. It was like listening to that really unfunny guest at a party who tries too hard. Some of his techniques and guides were quite useful though.

Different strokes for different folks I guess :)

Thx

I have to agree here, Scott Kelby's books are fantastic. I have 3 of them. They are so easy to read with very clear instructions and loads of screen shots.

LOL, I like the humor (although not always the funniest jokes). It makes the reading/studying not so boring.

Adobe Photoshop CS Classroom in a Book

It's made by Adobe, so you can't go wrong. Lot's of step by step lessons, with the course materails on cd-rom. $31.22 on Amazon, or scroll down at Amazon and there are sellers listed selling it for less than $25.

I've found Katrin Eismann's two books the best.

We use the classroom in a book for my cs class in college, and the professor recomends it. The step by step directions are very clear and gives examples in PC and Mac. It also shows great shortcuts that are very helpful.

Thanks for all the replies. I placed my order on amazon. Getting Kelby's book and one called PS one on one, which is probably an overkill for me but I figured it will be good to have for reference. (I like big, detailed books that I rarely use.. ;) )
