I set myself a dpc target for 2005, which was to make it to ten ribbons and to get 200 fav photog selections. I missed the first by 1, and made the second - also by one.

I thought it might amuse folks if we were to post our targets for 2006 here, and then we can all revisit this thread come January and see how we've done.

So I'd better start, huh?

1. To have entered over 200 challenges by the end of the year.

2. Five ribbons this year - to take the total to 14.

3. Post/enter an image that gets over 100 favs.

4. Knock my highest rated shot off its little perch.

Obviously, you have to scale these aims to fit your own current achievements. I think those make a severe test for me.

Now tell us yours - and be tough on yourself ;-)

Just took this right out of my profile:
Goals for 2006:
1.) Buy DSLR with a decent lens outfit
2.) Score above a 5.00 - Done (Shades of Blue 5.852 02/07/06)
3.) Score above a 5.50 - Done (Shades of Blue 5.852 02/07/06)
4.) Score above a 6.00
5.) Score above a 6.50
I think shooting for a ribbon or a 7 just yet is pushing my luck...

Having watched Prince on the Brits last night, it's now my mission to take photos of Prince this year.
Also to catch Steve Vai when he plays on the Zappa plays Zappa tour.
I have a couple of personal photojournalism projects I want to get off the ground, but I won't divulge those here... the walls have ears and all that...

From my bio:

My Goals for 2006
1. A Blue Ribbon
2. A Red Ribbon
3. Break the highly coveted score of 7.0
4. Score a 7.25
5. Score a 7.5
6. Win 5 ribbons this year (yikes! i can dream right?) Update: 3 so far
7. Raise my average to 5.75 and keep it.
8. 350 photos faved by other users
9. I promised myself not to enter an image that will score less than a 6. It's impossible (at least in my opinion) but if by the end of the year, 75% of my entries are above 6, I will have met my goal.
10. Buy that stinking 100mm f2.8 Macro

Ive been thinking of this very topic since last night(when internet got fixed finally) some goals are small and some are reaching for the sky.this is what i have come up with so far:

score a 6.5 and continue to increase my high score
make the top 20
ribbon just once(not sure if Im able to make that yet but hey..its a goal)
selected by 50 as a favorite photographer(19 so far)
have 100 favorite photographs(54 so far)
sell 10 prints

1- A ribbon, any ribbon.....

2- A top ten finish.

3- My highest scoring picture to be higher than a picture I took with a 3mp ixus in the second challenge I ever entered in May 2002.

4- DId I mention I want a ribbon??

I've got a kick ass camera now and some good glass, I've spent nearly 4 years learning from this site. If I can't do it this year, I should probably sell up!!!!

I thought about settings goals.
Already have enough ribbons, (getting pretty dusty too)
made the top 15 fav list,
and met some real decent people here.
These have all exceeded my expections here.

If anything, continue on my journey to find what moves me, not the voters,
and I'll see what happens in May when renewal time rolls around.

1) Jump over my shadow and stop submitting DPC friendly photos for each challenge and finally start entering my kind of photography.
2) Don't let Anastasia get better than me. Although that is a lost cause, she is already streets ahead of me there. Watch out for her this year!
3) Get to have more shootings with DPC'ers around here, especially our Dutch neighbours. And get them to always buy the pancakes every time. Azrifel! Philos!
4) Clone out the update button, I lose so much quality processing time with that damn button!
5) Average scores, ribbons, statistics are not as important for me now as they used to be, but it would still be good to try to get more ribbons this year than I did in 2003 or 2004?
6) Finally get to one of the hundreds of London GTG's going on.
7) Meet as many DPC'ers as possible at the Europe GTG in July. I hope many of you will come on over.
8) Lose 6 kilos!
