If I ever see another photo of the Moon, a marble or a golf ball i might puke... ugh but i voted on all 292 of them!

Aaron

any more shots of golf balls will get a 2 from me (joking)

I voted on all 292 myself. this was my first challenge. I really enjoyed it. Even though it took awhile, I belive everone who submits a picture has the right to a vote. I can see where your comming from about the moon. There were a couple in there that looked like they all went out at the same time and took the same picture. But I voted on The best focus of them all. I could never get sick of marbles! Just my opnion.

As one of the moon shooter...I appreciate you treating each for it's own merit......Thank you! I voted on them all, too! I found the range of marble shots quite interesting, lots of different perspectives. It's too bad you can't vary the look of the moon as much. I enjoyed them all, including the golf balls.

I do think the marbles and moon were a bit cliche after a while. There is only so many effects/angles on a shot like those. There is so much roundness which we are surrounded by I would think there would be more creativity on that one. Just my opinion

Dont get me wrong! I love the moon. The moon is in the sky almost everynight. I can see the moon anytime I want. Just voted on unique pictures a little better. Im all new to this photography thing and im not trying to put any photographer down in any way. We all have a diffrent eye for things.

Being someone that has a moon in my shot (hard to tell though), I can tell you...scores don't reflect you kind peoples views. LOL
The 5 of 6 comments I do have, are complimentary.
I don't think ANY camera is really capable of what I envisioned for this pic, that is why I took many different DOF and focus levels. I have already edited it to what I wanted and it certainly gives it much more interest than the below average photo it is being voted at now. (C: have many friends that want copies already (they have to wait till wed morning though) LOL

I don't agree with voting poorly on a cliche subject. A technically perfect and creative photo can take any cliche subject and make it art.

But if they're both cliche, uncreative, and technically inept, then points will be lost in my book.

I thought mine was a pretty good image technically, a little cliched maybe. Is anyone else seeing a big decline in the number of comments as of late?

I think I am getting marked down because my Round picture is round. The 7 comments i have received are very complimentry.

Hi,\
I'm new to this site... and the camera I'm using so shots I'm posting are the result of my learning experience w/ the camera.

I see y'all talking about viewing your votes, as they are being cast.
Correct? where are you viewing these if this is correct?

So far the site and everyone here has been very helpful. Thanks alot.

i got 21 comments and i am very pleased considering my first time here.
they were all helpful in their own way.
for example my image is unedited. i could've sharpened it and changed the contrast but it wouldnt be the photo i took. some people have commented on this and i realise now i wouldve done better, and maybe even won considering my fairly high score, if i had, so maybe ill change my ideals. maybe not, but its something i wouldnt have thought about otherwise. so thanks to everyone who took the time out to say something about my image.

ps. i now wish i made more comments. next time i will for sure.

Absolutely. There's one pic in the Round challenge (featuring an item from a popular sport played with clubs), which is quite unoriginal but a high quality shot nonetheless.

And - at the end of the day - where would we be without clichés? ;)

I have a 3.7 with 11 comments. This is looking to be my worst score ever. It's about time too cause I'm tired of this being at the bottom:)

YEP! and below average scores for AT LEAST average photos. I am in the above qouted boat too. And thought it had a touch of originality...guess not enough.

During the "Round Voting" process, I have seen some rather unusual ups and downs in my score. It only goes to show that not everyone thinks alike which is probably in my favor (smile). Sort of like 10 people seeing a car accident .... how many versions of what actually happened will there be. All in all, my photo is doing better than I thought it would. Currently 223 votes, 6.515 and still moving around.

(make that 6.50)
