I'm a little late to the thread party, but I was an early entrant in the shadow party. I was logging off to go to bed at 4 AM when I noticed the 24-hour challenge, so I went out on the deck to check if I could see stars? YES! So I went a-wandering in the pre-dawn hours, and (groundhog that I am) shadows began to appear, miraculously, in this week of overcats cape, and I have a naturally-;it shadow entry which, no dobt, will bomb as badly as all my entries of late...

I rushed home from work (snuck out early, no less!) and lo and behold, we have high clouds for the evening. BAH! Sun peeks out now and again, so maybe.... we'll see.

I would really like to see what all the shadows will look like. With the shadows, we only see the shape but we can't indentified the colors. It's super fun!!!

mine is 630kb!!! I'm loosing a lot of quality to getting it down to 150kb...is there anyway to reduce it without a loss in quality???

Perhaps making it a bit smaller than 640 pixels may help.

Justin,

I've noticed tons of my photos end up huge like yours and I loose a lot of quality as well compressing for DPC. Here's what I do in advanced challenges...

Resize the image, then duplicate a layer. Sharpen a tad, then using the eraser brush, erase the parts that don't need to be as sharp on the top layer. Then you can sharpen the bottom layer a tiny bit if you need it.

Hope this helps

Yeah, I've also found this technique useful. If needed, you can complement that with a NeatImaged layer, masked to only show in the non-essential parts of the image.

I had two ideas for this challenge bu did not enter due to time constraints.

1. Do a spoof of the star wars Anakin shadow where his shadow is Darth Vader.
2. Make my shadow look like a devil with the tail and the horns...no hooves though :)

Ooh that was great that Star Wars poster :)

alright quick question, my lighting is one worklight, with the metal shade around it and it looks as if Im getting two shadows. In other words my outline isnt crisp, what can I do to fix this?
