Just picked up my new, long awaited camera and lens and I cannot believe the difference between it and a D70! Larger display and viewfinder which is nice and bright. The images are amazing and the VR on the lens allowed me to shoot at 1/6 handheld for some great indoor shots. Now, that wouldn't be the norm, but I would like to think I could shoot at ISO100 and 1/15 with no problems in many settings.

It feels amazing to hold and though it is bigger and heavier, the D70 now feels a little like a toy. I cannot wait to get out there and get some shots during the day.

There is no banding as some people have stated about their D200's.

Next purchase: Sigma 70-200 2.8 and 2x teleconverter.

I've been trying to get hold of that lens, but it's not available. Can't wait.

you only need the Id of the shot - so just put 289490 in between the thumb tags not IMAGE_ID=289490. :)

I hate Nikon...

I placed my order on November 22nd and it still hasn't arrived.

My assumption is that they upped the quality control to find cameras with the banding problem which set their already slow pace back even further. I also heard that more kit packages are in these next waves lowering the "body only" numbers

Honestly...at this point, I'm used to the wait. Only slightly pissed off but pretty numb to situtaion.

call me mad but when my D200 turned up on Friday I was determined that the first shutter release was going to be a semi decent shot as is befitting the camera, so I had it for 3 hours before I found something to shoot with the right light (I was working most of that time) ... the light I wanted never came but I took the shot anyway

the shot is a lot sharper full size :)

D200, Love it.... now to learn it

Apparently, locally here in melbourne australia, the local suppliers are realeasing D200 FIRST to those who bought it with a 18-200mm lens...coupld that be the policy around the world?

Its a loooooong story! But to get down to the nitty gritty, Nikon is really cool and I don't regret it one second, the D200 is awesome, traitor as I may be :)
