Why did this win? whats so great about a wall? just curious, cause I cant believe it got the blue, considering the other entries.

It's a great picture that includes a sign, an interesting old sign, so it fits the challenge and doesn't seem forced. It's all about color and texture, it's reeking with age and nostalgia and sense-of-place. It's cleanly composed and lit, it has all sorts of eye appeal and some appealingly human insights in the plant arrangements...

It's nice to see clean, graphic work score well from time to time :-)

yeh its a nice photo, just surprised! maybe it will give the smaller people around here hope..haha.

Imo the color and simplicity make that picture.

I totally agree with the top three in this challenge.

Intersting the top got only a 6.6

Take a look through his portfolio. He has some beautiful works in there. I remember stumbling upon his photos on DPCPrints a while back and looked at his profile and was shocked to find that he hadn't entered any challenges yet. Silvestro, it's been a long time coming for you, congratulations on the blue.
