I was pretty happy with my submission, but was wondering what folks thought of these other candidates.

This one is pretty much the same as my actual entry, except it was taken with a rectilinear lens, instead of the fish. This one was disqualified, though, cause of the two security guards in the lower left that I thought were far too conspicuous.

Number 2 is with the fish again, but taken without the fountain. Number 3 is again without the fountain, but from an even more dramatic angle. Two and three didn't get strongly considered becuase I had it in my head that I was gonna enter a shot with the fountain. Looking back, I'm wondering if I shoulnd't have given these two more of a chance.

Thanks for any comments.

Of those, the one you submitted was the best choice, I think. The fountain is definitely a must - makes an OK shot really interesting. I'm not wild about the effect of the fish-eye lens, but the motion of the water was captured better in that shot, and like you said the security guards (and even the people in the middle of the shot) detract from the shot with the rectilinear lens. And, very nice work.

The one you entered was in my opinion the best shot. The others just seemed to lack something

The one you submitted was the best of them, I like number 2 also but not quite as much.

Thanks for the input. It's good to know I picked the right one. I kinda like #2 the more I look at it, though.

I was satisfied with my submission as well, but like welcher, there were a couple that were similar but didn't make the cut.

here's my night on the townouttake

Security gaurds are mean. They chased me off campus one time when i was taking pictures of the award winning interior architecture of the school
