You know, they made a documentary about the first and a movie about the second...is that the best you can come up with?

I was looking through that challenge, this is the weirdest DQ notice I have ever seen:
Entry must be taken with a digital camera. Photo must be taken within the challenge dates. Photographer is dead. Dead people can't submit to challenges. Please review the challenge submission rules.

Can I do people from DPC? They each have got a certain quality about their work and I wonder how well would a submission based on a living photographer be digested here in the DPC community?

I don't see why not, IMO many people on here are "well known".

Its because its picture actually clicked by ANSAL ADAMS and not by DPC member.

I have Yosemite in my backyard. I can't imagine not taking a whack at this one, even though I'll be lost in a sea of far more skilled digital darkroom users.

It would have been interesting if it had been 'photographer or artist' -- imagine the Caravaggios and Vettrianos.

Thanks all for letting me know the BIG names. So what shall I be doing now -

1. Pick the favorite and click with his/her style?
2. Or click the photo and find out who's style it matches with ;)

Anyway, a good exercise to know the professionals/artists in this area.

It sucks that this is a basic editing challenge...

Nope. Henri Cartier-Bresson, reputedly the greatest street candid photographer of the 20th century print all his work with no post-processing whatsoever. Every image unprocessed, uncropped, straight out of the camera.

True genius and something to aspire to.

Maybe if we used the photographer as part of the tile then we can all say "ahhhh yes that's a Diane Arbus image alright".

Any thoughts?

Nah, I'm going to go for those aspiring photographers, some not-well-known ones so nobody can say "dont look his work to me, DNMC!!!" lol
