Anyone planning on going to the game? I have NO desire to get inside the stadium, but I do plan on heading down there to take some pictures of the crowds of people before the game. Can you say LUNATICS?! LOL Anyway, if anyone is planning on heading down, let me know. Maybe we can meet up and get a beer and take some shots, uh..pictures.

that's too bad, I am out of state for a while. Otherwise, I live downtown Denver and would have been able to meet up. You are absolutely right, they are crazy. I personally am not a Bronco fan, but have met plenty of obsessed people. Bronco fans have a sense of entitlement which is annoying. Pictures will be hilarious so you have to go either way.

would love to be there but as a Upstate NY resident, Season ticket holder for Steelers, I can't get to Denver!! will have to watch on the TV!! I'd love to see your pics if you'll share when you get back!

that is of course, unless Denver follows suit with Colts and Bengals and campaign to keep steeler fans out.

Now why do you gotta go say something like that, Denver fans are the same as fans of every other sports team. You got your good, your bad and everything in between.

Pekesty-

Hey, I love Denver and have plenty of friends there. And before I moved to Denver had no problem with them, especially the team. But the fans are so accustomed to winning seasons, they feel that they have a great chance each year to win the Super Bowl, even if they aren't very good. But it just happens that this year, they very well will win the big one.

ditto pekesty.....all fans are the same...fanatics, lunatics and fans.

I just think it is funny that the Colts and Bengals felt the need to attempt to keep Steeler Fans out.

Was a good game last week though. What a ending!

No kidding, that was a really good game. How many oppurtunities did the Colts get/were given to get back in that game!

I know it happens every year with one team or another...but funny how one week I'm rooting with you and the next against you. Go Broncos!

edit...just noticed your comment about keeping Steeler fans out, what's that all about?

yeah, spend alot of time switch-hitting during playoff time!

The Bengals started it, they started a media campaign asking any person holding tickets for the Bengal/Steeler game to refuse to sell the ticket to a Steeler Fan. So that they could monopolize the Stadium noise.

The Colts followed suit. Again campaigning to keep Steeler fans out. They clearly stated that they didn't want to see ANY 'yellow' towels in their house.

The commentators (although I'm not sure they are correct) stated that Steeler fans were the highest team known for traveling to the various venues for games.

Good luck and lets have a good game. Lets talk after the game!

Yeah, I've heard that Steeler fans travel well. But considering the size of NFL stadiums they'd have to travel very, very, very well to justify those kind of campaigns.

Yep... all true! The people manning the phones were actually instructed to tell anyone from the 412 or 724 area codes that there were no tickets available, all in an effort to keep the black & gold out of the stadiums.

I did find it rather amusing that at the end of the Colts game, you could hear the "Here We Go Steelers" chant throughout the RCA Dome!

Thanks for the confirmation Alan....I'd been commenting on it at work since last week....but didn't REALLY know if they were really doing it...I also heard the "Here We Go Steelers"..... of course that was over my loud exclamation of "NO GOOD,,,,,YESSSSS!!!!!!"

Alan, was it your post that I read about taking pictures on the field?? Are you going to Denver?

I am one of the few from Cleveland who will publicly root for the Steelers (I live in Florida now so it makes it a lot easier!). I grew up in Cleveland but went to college in Pitt at the time the Browns were changing to the Ravens and moving to Baltimore. I watched the Steelers stand behind keeping the Browns in Cleveland to save the rivalry, and ever since I have had a soft spot for them. Keeping my fingers crossed and saying my prayers that they make it all the way this year. Would love to see Bettis get to the big game! Alan - I miss seeing your Steelers photos every week.

Oh please post your photos! I would love to see the crazy fans, and hopefully there will be some Steelers fans as well.

As a disappointed Bears fan, I gotta jump in here and prognosticate. Now that the Bears are out, I can be completely objective. ;-)

Steelers at the Broncos
This is going to be a good game. The Broncos are VERY tough at home and the Steelers have shown a tendency to - dare I say it - choke in the big games. Can they hold on this year and beat the Broncos and make it to the big game?? I say yes. I'm picking the Steelers to beat the Broncos offense with a healthy dose of blitzing and forcing Jake to make some key errors. Steelers by 7.

Panthers at Seahawks
After watching the Panthers completely dominate the Giants and then thoroughly humiliate the Bears vaunted defense, I'm not sure the Seahawks are going to have the answer. Steve Smith is unstoppable and the Carolina defense is a thing of beauty. Panthers by 3.

This probably sounds funny, coming from a Bronco fan. But how can you say that, they won down the final stretch, while facing elimination. They've also won their playoff games, and on the road. You can't get bigger games than that.

It won't be quite the same as past play-off games. The south stands are not as roudy and noisy. Sad but true. Denver by 15.

shanahan and cowher are awesome coaches. Both games are gonna be fantastic, even though my dominating Colts played their worst game of the year (and still only lost by 3) and should be hosting Denver. But Big Ben is unshakable. But Plummer's feet can negate a lot of what hurt the Colts last week. I am hoping for a Pittsburgh/Carolina Super Bowl. Just for the chance to see Steve Smith in the big show and Ben to take some of that Brady lovefest talk away from the media.

I have been a colts fan since they came to indy...not living there now but will always be a fan. They always seem to choke in the play offs.

The Broncos is going to get there ass handed to them...I did not think they play well last game...who could not win on all the turn overs? Even tho my wife thinks different..but she is a broncos fan. I lived in denver in the mid 70's and know how ppl act then...nuts...Not to get off your subject just my thoughts.

Look out for the Bus!!

Did you watch the same game as we did here in Pittsburgh? The Steelers kicked Indy's ass. The score was irrelevant at the end. Pittsburgh OWNED the Colt's. As far as their kicker goes...the football GODS payed him back for twirling that terrible towel rip off all game long.

Steelers get up by 11....it's over....102-1-1 record when up by 11 or more at the half.

Here we go Steelers...
