Hi,

I'm looking for real unforgettable live songs. No songs with the audience only clapping at the beginning and at the end. Songs in which the crowd really sings along.
Any suggestions?
Thanks and greetings from good old Germany

A lot of the songs on "Coldplay Live 2003" are really good live renditions. If you want the crowd singing along, check out Yellow.

I don't know if you are a country music fan.... but "Garth Brooks Double Live" is a great album! He really gets the crowd going, and there are alot of songs where the crowd goes wild! Unanswered Prayers,Friends in Low places, and the Dance are 3 of my faves from that album where the crowd takes over esp in Unamswered Prayers! He basically lets the crowd sing it!

I can close my eyes while listening to this CD and feel just like I did when I was sitting at the concert! It's seriously the BEST live album I have ever heard!

A good one for crowd participation is.... Ants Marching by the Dave Matthews Band, Live at Red Rocks.

Good luck.

Cheers,
-Jeremy

Journey "Captured" and "Greatest Hits Live" are both excellent.

As far as audience participation, it's hard to beat the enthusiastic (to put it mildly) crowd singing along to "YYZ" on "Rush in Rio". For those unfamiliar with the song, "YYZ" is an instrumental.

Nordlys

P.S. Useless Rush trivia: "YYZ" is named after the Toronto airport code, and the opening rhythm in the song is "YYZ" in morse code (-.-- -.-- --..)

That one's still frequently covered live by crowds at football stadia (both American and "real" Football) around the world. Good call.

I'm trying to remember if the crowd sang "We Shall Overcome" when Dr. King gave his speech on the Mall (not shopping!) in Washington. If so, there were about a half-million people singing there, even by official estimates.

I love live Rush...much better than their studio work IMHO. A good live (and most likely stoned) version is Tom Petty's 'Breakdown' where he tells the audience that they will put him out of a job.

As far as rock goes, AC/DC Live is another good option, or the Metallica Live Shit Binge and Purge from the mid-90's.

I love live music...but I don't know many songs where people are singing along...but I know they are out there, to be sure.

I'd have to agree, Rush puts on an awesome live show :)

Haven't listened to them in years but Slayer - Decade of Aggression has to be one of the best live albums I have ever heard.

U2 is the best live band around.

The song they closed with in concerts in the 80's and have started closing with again - 40. Their fans sing this song back to them as long as we can.

The best concert....Rush.

The best live album...Frampton comes alive.

Of coarse, just my opinion.

I don't really love the song or the band, but the best single live song as far as the reaction and participation of the audience I have ever seen was "Freebird" by Lynard Skynard, though "We are the Champions" by Queen comes a close second.

"A whole lot of Rosie" AC/DC from "If you want blood..You got it" with Bon Scott :)
