Wow what a night, all in one night I went to the ranger game, which was great saw Mark Messier's jersey get raised, such a big fan had a blast, then we left, friends and I decided to go out and eat and drink with other fans we meet, so we get in the cab I get in and kick a bag on the floor of the cab. So after some looking I see lens and a Nikon D70. So my friend and I decide to look some more maybe for the owners info. Nothing with info at all so we look at pictures in the camera and decide it would be fun and nice to track them down (people in pictures). So we go to places that I know that was in the pictures figuring they would be their looking in the camera. Then from one of the pictures I notice some pics from around grand central and the hotel next to it. So we go there and show people and someone who works there saw them calls their room and they were so grateful keep saying thankyou made knew friends from england and ended up drinking again, talking for a long time. Found out that they live in the same town I used to live along time ago when my dad was in the military. Finally got home sometime last night or this morning.

Good on you! Well done on a good piece of detective work to!
You must have been watching too much CSI (CSI - New york, of course!)

Good job, mate!

I always have a piece of paper with my contact information between the battery grip and the camera itself.

*sniff*..

That there are still people that would thoughtlessly think only of getting an item back to its owner first and foremost..

Touches the heart.

I lost a camera (Canon EOS IX Lite APS SLR) and about three rolls of film (Detroit and Chicago pictures) in New York about 8 years ago - if anyone happens to have picked that up, I would love to have the pictures back!

That's a great story, heartwarming. Hat's off to you!

That said, it caused me to remember somethign I saw here months ago; someone posted a link to a "movie" made from linked shots from a 20D, the theme of which was somebody tracking down a pretty girl by seeking out locations she had photographed on a camera she had dropped. It was a very sweet little film.

Can the miraculous MK find this thread/link for us?

Robt.

I bet it was fun trying to find the owner. It's nice to know there are still honest people roaming about. I'm a firm believer in ... what goes around comes around. Well done and Kudos to you !
