I like the design. Very attractive.

It's very graphics intensive though and this can hurt your Search Engine rankings.

Suggestions:
1. Add a text only menu at the bottoms of the pages.
2. Add more text overall on the pages.

These will help your Search engine scores a LOT.

I don't really know anything about search engine rankings. I did want to keep it where you don't have to scroll at all (except on the nature pages).

I think what you have done looks like you did a lot of work and put effort into it, but to me it doesn't feel like it's a site for a business. The colors and designs seem more like a fun thing or a game kind of site. I have never heard of graphics having much to do with site ratings. I think if it looked more business like it would showcase you better as a professional looking for work, rather than just showing your work.

The most important tip I can give you about search engines is that CONTENT IS KING. Search engines thrive o text. The more relevant text you have, the better they like your site.

Anyone that tells you things about keyword metatags and bologna like that, is still living in the 90's ;-)

would it help if I did black text on my black background with keywords in the empty spaces on my site? that way it wouldn't junk up the actual site, but maybe help in search engines? like a cheap way to do metatags?

Actually that is one of the best ways to get yourself kicked out of the search engines all together. Google, especially, dislikes any form of hiding text from the user.

One exception is alt tags on images, they do help some... not a lot, but some.

Headlines count the most .. especially H1 and H2 headlines.

The title tage should state exactly what the page is about THEN have your site name appended to it. IE ... Portraits - DrakePhoto

Whatever you do, don't try any form of deception (hiding anything) Google and others will find out and punish your site for it.

I know you tried to stay away from scrolling the pages. Bit, nowdays scrolling is expected. That why most new mouses have the scroll button. Put the text under the normal page break if you feel it hinders your design. Spiders (search engine crawlers) and viewers alike may find the addition of clever text very useful.

Let me know if I can offer anymore help. I'm pretty quick at answering PM's.
