I wish to Move not copy image files to an external hard drive. Do I need a software program to accomplish this or can I just create a folder/directory on the external and move them by drop & drag from Window explorer to my new drive?
Thanks ahead of time. Lyta |

I'm doin' this right now, and I just highlight the files I want, and on the side bar (Using Windows XP), there's an option for "Move Files". Click it, it opens a little window and you follow the directory to the destination you want, and click "Move"...and it does it all very nicely.

Select the files you want moved, right-click, and drag; you'll get a list of options, select "move" instead of "copy".

There are a couple of keyboard shortcuts you can use as well. When you start to drag the files to the required folder press
SHIFT to move or CTRL to copy. A little + appears when you copy which is absent when you move.
Hope this helps
