At 2:08 am, due to a slight case of insomnia, I'm listening to the whir of dvd-rom as I test-rip some data to my drive.

My computer is purring that electric purr.

And somewhere else, I can hear the cat messing with a piece of paper in the house. Well, it's either the cat ~ or some new animal...?

I can also hear the refrigerator. I'm listening to it all. Even my fingers tapping these letters out.

Heightened sound late at night (or early in the morning) is just about as great as the blaring colors and lights of a solid, early spring.
