...when you walk past people in the street taking photos you have to fight the urge to tell them they're doing it all wrong...

...when someone says: "Would you like a glass?" You say "500mm?"

... when you are driving along and pass by one of those images - damn that would make a great image, and then think about jaming the brakes on in the middle of a freeway (cause obviously you have a camera on you anyway).

Seriously, I had one of those flashes the other day on another topic - I saw "FF" in a disucssion (as in Fama/French from finance theory) and my honest first thought was why the hell are the talking about the 5D in the middle of this discussion. :slap on forehead:

Wondering if there would be good photo ops from the roof of the hotel you are staying in across from the airport as you have an afternoon to kill, the brakes on the car went out during the trip here so are without transport and the highway is too busy to cross on foot.

- You keep one pane in your window cleaned to perfection, screenless and dust free, JUST INCASE something interesting should wander into the back yard.

- You seriously consider ways to move your family, ex-spouses and pets closer to the equator to gain daylight shooting time in the winter months.

- You buy a Jeep and a winch entirely for the reason of being able to pull over into ANYTHING while driving.

- Your winter gloves have "trigger finger" flaps.

- Household baking items, bed sheets, cutting boards and other items are cannibalized for lighting filters, umbrella holders, reflectors, ect. and you can no longer remember what parts you used for what or how to find them again.

- Your kid eats a junebug and makes a face with legs hanging out of his mouth and you seriously consider getting the camera and giving him another one just to get that shot.

(all things I have been accused of. *cough*)

when you have a long list of lens that you want to buy....

when you are allways reading post on new/old lens

when you are a member of like 5 or 6 photography forums and you have multiple windows open on your monitor at once

when you are a last second bidder on ebay and you win a lens and sit outside and wait for the big brown truck

When you leave the house without your camera, kick yourself, then turn around wherever you can to go back and get it, no matter how much the turnaround may endanger your life, and NO MATTER HOW LATE you are for your appointment.

When your husband starts talking about buying a house that has both a sunrise view AND a sunset view so he can stop driving you all over creation to try to find great shots!

...and for me; when I see stores trying to sell unsuspecting newbies a Nikon, I intervene, whip out my 20D (which is conveniently in my "purse"), and let them play with it. (No offense meant to Nikon'ers, I just love my Canons!)

-When you get depressed because you haven't had time to take a pic in 48 hours
-When your girlfriend calls and you tell her the date will have to wait until tomorrow night, 'cause there's this event/sunset/alien invasion that you just have to shoot :D
