I missed that one also mavrik - although I DID wonder about the timing on CJ's post in this thread too.

Rose - You need to lighten up a bit. I'm 99% certain that the OP in the Baking thread was pulling strings (you know sarcasm and all). It worked...a fine reaction was generated. ;^)

If I'm wrong, and the OP DOES enter one of the shots in a challenge I'm fairly certain that they would get marked down by those that don't like the anonymity being broken...AND...the shots weren't that fantastic. Even the OP stated they were taken at 800 ISO and not that great. Back to pulling strings...

As for contacting SC about a post, it works. I've used the 'Report Post' several times when someone may have slipped (a newbie) or someone needs SC help with a question and SC hasn't responded, etc... Usually someone from SC picks up on it right away. So you really don't need to be the self-appointed gestapo...unless you enjoy it, and then I'll continue to smile as I watch in amusement. ;^)

edit - typo.

wow Rose I just read your profile and for a married woman you seem really bitter. Do you wake up on the wrong side of the bed??? or just live life this crabby??? I couldn't help BUT notice its something everyday with you (yes I understand this is the same post as yesterday). I think you should seek help. Your photography is good but if you spent as much time editing, commenting or voting as you do bitching/whining/complaining/defending etc. then I bet you'd be closer to ribboning. Man here I am thinking I get crabby if I don't get it twice a day but wow you got me beat.

I think most people understood that Pawdrix put that "which photo" in the baking thread as a joke or just to get you fired up again.

Note the LOL and the made up challenge title used there.

that moniker was given to you in jest. if you see something that you think is inappropriate in a forum post, you should report it. the site council reviews all reported posts and takes action IF NECESSARY.

For that matter, to be off subject completely, forget about flagging posts. I submitted my Mother entry in the ticket for validation two days before challenge end. I have yet to hear on it. Did "once again", no one receive the ticket?

validation notes are only given when the SC determines that it's possible for someone to misinterpret the manner in which a photo was taken. simply requesting validation for a photo does not guarantee that it will receive a validation notice during voting....otherwise too many people would take advantage of it.

if you have submitted a photo for validation and heard nothing on it, you can assume that everything is fine. if more information is needed, it will be requested.

That's funny. Last time I asked council to validate an entry pre-challenge for me, they said they couldn't do that but that I COULD during challenge by simply sending it in the "ticket" for validation. This time I did that, and have received yet another version of why it may or may not be done. Sometimes I have to wonder why there is that option if it is only when someone on council believes the photo may be misinterpretted, as they are not the only voters.

Also, to not receive a reply means it is ok? Would it not be best to hear either way? Last time I made that assumption, only to find that the ticket answer was sent, but never went through, and council apologized for the error. This when I received the same message by the site that it had gone through? It was just not handled correctly on the other end. What is to make me believe it was not handled wrong again if I don't hear at all? LOL....

Okkkkk, well, I guess some functions are better off just not using then? I will just go ahead and make that assumption.

I think you are confusing validation and validation note. I'd be glad to explain if you're interested, otherwise you are welcome to your assumptions.

I disagree. I was PM'ed by someone specifically who felt it was not a joke, and let me tell you, they were quite the angry little bugger over it. Besides, the premise of this thread was also due to someone who placed a prechallenge entry in forum and said outwardly in that thread they WERE joking and wouldn't use it, and they did. So I have to disagree with you.

LMAO..LOL. "for a married woman I seem rather bitter"? Are all married women never bitter to you? LOL....I'm not bitter. I am just having a heated debate over what I and many believe is a serious and heated issue. If I was bitter, I would tell you where to go, how to get there, and which road to take, draw you a map, give you a list of other posters to send the information to, then end my membership here.

Telling me to seek help, I am hoping you don't mean that as me being somehow mentally derranged, because if you do, then that is stepping over the line MUCH further than I was admonished for simply for saying someone was being childish. So I will ask you now for an explination on that one before I DO flag your post.

Yesterday you talked of the same on how I should spend MY time by commenting more..LOL. Today you have now added to the list?

I answered you by saying I do comment, and just how many times and on which challenges. All current challenges have also been voted on and comments left. NOT that I need to explain to YOU how I spend my time. Quite frankly, it is really none of your business. And if you prefer not to see me be rude, then don't provoke it.

Maybe it is you who needs to take a little break from my posts, and this thread, and spend your own time a bit more wisely since me and this thread are so aggitating to you? Just a suggetion, of course.

Rose

Either way, it is of no matter. I was told that I was sent an answer on the first try, BUT it was sent incorrectly and I never received it. They apologized. Either way, whether I did something wrong or right in submitting it, I should receive some kind of answer. "I'm sorry but we can't do that because...." or whatever. If it is due to overload that I don't receive an answer, then isn't it a bit odd to have the function at all? Or should I just assume that no answer means it could have been another error? LOL...I don't know. I think I will stick to my assumptions. Too many stories for a very simple procedure. If I need to do it again, I will, but I guess I just won't expect an answer either way unless it is a dq. Then it will be in BOLD RED and be QUITE clear. :)

No as a matter of fact you would be the first.

Ok I was putting it rather nicely I thought but to answer your question, you really need to go "get some". But not just the kind your used to. The kind that'll change the way you walk for a while and get rid of this crab attack you seem to be playing in 99% of all your posts. Weed may also help this but it will also make you munch and forget things etc.

Yes and if your really looking for something to do then come over and clean for me cuz I fired the maid last week.

You past rude a while ago in another thread/post (not to me) but regardless. I'm sure I'm not the only one who thinks this Rose and even if I am thats just to bad. I'm just suggesting that you relax about the "this and thats" about the site and put more effort into your photography.

I think your right. Its nap time for me anyway. Why don't you start another thread (or even use this one for all I care) and sit here and blah blah blah some more but just when you think your finished, don't stop. Keep on going until the wee hours of the night and into the next day about the same stuff that you stated several times before in other threads blah blah blah...

Sorry, I forgot to answer this part..

The moniker was not given in jest, but in sarcasim. I only took it in jest rather than use sarcasim in return.

You say site council reviews all reported posts and takes action IF NECESSARY. Do you mind me asking again? Had I reported THAT post, would you have deemed it "necessary" to take action? AND if not, does that make my opinion and that of others on prechallenge entry postings less important so as not to have written to the poster on that thread our own opinions on the matter?

notonline, you really need to chill. Relax? Use the word to your own advantage. I am going to save you the aggravation of an actual reply. Not because I don't feel it is warranted, but simply because I don't feel you have added any intelligent input to the actual matter at hand to address. You are simply here to incite, patronize, and quite frankly, I really can't think of any reason you are here at all other than those two.

Now, you have a nice nap. And let me suggest to you also a nice hot bath, some tea, and a good book?

Stay well, notonline, and by the way, I literally love your username.

Rose

More replies, GET more replies. Remember that I have stated that in this thread earlier? If council wishes, they may lock this thread anytime, as I have suggested myself yesterday. BUT, if others want to keep the thread going, then I will reply. I mean, it is my thread until locked. The basis of this conversation has been accomplished, as far as I am concerned. Those like notonline's comments usually will only follow once a thread has peaked its basic purpose, in which this one has. So lock it up, or keep it open, it is really of no difference to me either way.

Ever notice how many of you arguments, accusations and insults end with "I got a pm" or "My Professional photographer friend" or "my husband" - you seem to always need validation and help from people outside the forum discussion. Inevitably it also comes down to "You just don't understand what I'm saying..." or "I'm done talking lock this thread". In the middle of a debate there are constant cries about how this person or that person is ONLY arguing with you because of some personal problem from this thread or that thread from the past.

Talking about all the "outside" sources who prove you are right doesn't help you. You are rallying support from people who either aren't willing or aren't able to actually debate the issues in an open forum - it's not a very credible defense.

Assuming people just don't understand or that they haven't read the thread is implying the person is just too ignorant to get it. If you have a point you are trying to make it is your job to accurately make you point so people can understand what you are saying. Insulting them is only going to make people no want to listen to you.

The assumption that people ONLY debate points with you because of the past is a bit silly and paranoid. Even if you did have enemies (and if you do, maybe you should take a good hard look as to why) that doesn't make you automatically right in whatever your crusade is. Sometimes people believe you are wrong regardless of whether they like you or not. Bringing up how popular you are will not help your cause and bringing up a past thread is like rallying support from unknown sources.

A few other things I've noticed...
Putting LOL at the end of a line doesn't mean the comment wasn't insulting
No one is nearly as interested in your personal life as you seem to think they are. Just debate as Rose8689 and leave your personal circumstances out of the argument.

I for one would vote that you not become that anonymity gestapo. The anonymity witch hunts you've been launching are hurting more people than they are helping. You made your point, most people don't agree, move on. There were no rules broken. The person you called out in this thread was told they are immoral, has no integrity and has no dignity. They begged and pleaded for you to stop bashing them (after you made your point) as they started getting spammed by people about how horrible they are and you just kept right on going.

Did it ever occur to you that the person in question might have made a mistake and entered the contest at the last minute on a whim? Why must you always assume there is malicious intent? Do you really see all people (except yourself of course) as evil?

Clearly this thread has outlived its usefulness, if ever it had any. Rose, if you have further questions, please feel free to submit a ticket. I'm locking this.
