As an amateur / hobby photographer, I can't justify the money to purchase a copy of Adobe Photoshop CS2, so, I purchased Photoshop Elements 4.0 and have been very pleased with all of the wonderful features.

Now I would like to locate other DPC members who are also using Photoshop Elements so that we can share ideas and techniques.

I have asked the DPC Adminstration to add a field called "Software Used" to our user profiles, but until that happens, I would like to start a collection of UserNames who are currently using Adobe Photoshop Elements.

If you are interested in communicating with this group, please e-mail me and I will maintain a collection of e-mail address and UserNames and share them with others.

Good idead fadoi. If everyone added the words Photoshop Elements to their bio, would there be a way to search and find all users with those words in the bio fields?

I use both Photoshop CS2 and PS Elements 4. I like the photo browser better in Elements than I do Adobe Bridge.

I'm a newbie to digital and have downloaded the trial of Elements. I'm frustrated by it's slowness (despite my fairly fast machine) and probably won't continue with it for this reason. I've read this criticism of it several times in reviews. I've also downloaded the trial of ACDSee 8, which I really like. Do any of you more experienced users think ACDSee is worth having, or is it too 'mickey mouse'?

I got Elements 4 a couple of months ago, found it to be a great program, for the cost. For christmas I got Scott Kelby's book The
Photoshop Elements 4 Book for Digital Photographers. It has lots of info. A lot better than the manual or the info on the web. I recomend getting this or one of the other book on Elements 4.

I use Elements 3. I'm a bit frustrated, because Elements 4 came out just after I bought 3. This kind of thing seems to happen to me all the time - either that or the price goes down as soon as I've bought something.

I agree that this book is very good and gives the right amount of info. I use PSE4 and I'm very happy.

My copy of Elements just arrived!
I have, what I thought was a fast machine, pen. 4 good graphics card etc..But when dodge or burning it locks up. It comes around if I leave it for five min. or so. A bit of pain to say the least. Any ideas on how I can improve this performance issue?

Thanks,

Rob

I have been using Elements 4 since it came out last year. For the price it is a great program. I found that at times it was slow, until I added more RAM. Went from 1 gig to 2 gig and now the program run great. With the price of memory so cheap, an upgrade is fast and inexpensive. I also have the Scott Kelby book "the photoshop elements 4 book for digital photographers" a great wealth of helpful information.

The fix!
I added more ram. I had 512 and added another 512 to give me 1 gig but it was still locking up or hesitating.
I disable HyperThreading in my bios (running win. xp) and now Elements is lightning fast! It wont slow down no matter what, or how fast I do it.

I suspect I didn't need that extra ram at all. Save you $$ and try it!
