I just recieved a newsletter from Fotolia saying they are going to pay for people uploading images throughout january. Sounds pretty good to me if I understand it right. If you are allready going to upload images, it would pay to do it now and earn while you do it. albeit not MUCH, but if you have 1000 images to upload you will earn $400... not too bad for a starter, then you can earn like regular once the images are online.

Here is a snippit from their email they sent out

As a special thank you and New Years offer Fotolia has developed the following upload promotion to reward those photographers and artist who upload many images.

Beginning December 29th 2005 ( today ! ) till January 31st 2006 Fotolia will reward photographers and artists who upload more than 50 approved images.

The following table outlines how many credits Fotolia will provide photographers who upload many approved images:

0.20 credits for every uploaded approved image over 50
0.35 credits for every uploaded approved image over 100
0.50 credits for every uploaded approved image over 500

The follow example should clarify things.

If you upload 1000 approved images in January you will earn:

(0.20 X 50) + (0.35 X 400) + (0.50 X 500) = 400 Credits ($400). You may cash out the money at the end of January.

This program only applies to new images uploaded from December 29th 2005 till January 31st 2006. Images uploaded previously do not apply.

The only thing we ask for in return is that you not delete the images for a period of at least 1 year from acceptance date (for obvious reasons).

This promotion and new upload system are tools that we have put in place to help and thank you for trusting Fotolia in 2005.
We look forward to a exciting and profitable 2006.

Here is a link to Fotolia to check it out

now i am glad i didn't spend all that time using their SLOW uploading process and not get paid for the uploading.

Now they have a fast (or faster at least) uploading process and payment for uploading.

Wow, sounds like they've really improved their upload/approval setup then - when I was doing my initial uploads a short time ago they were taking ages to work through them! I might get around to finishing off all my uploads...

My Goodness! I got a headache trying to sort out all the licensing/pricing/commission plans, etc...seems a bit complicated to me.

Ya Fotolia rocks! It's a new site but they seem very organized and agressive! :-)

Yes I have a payment coming now...only for $30.00 but the best thing about this site is, you can request payment at anytime you want too!
Plus I have another $3.00 made again now

yeah it seems like they are aware that they have to invest a bit of $$ to get off the ground. Other sites like canstock STILL have very few images, and few downloads. Fotolia which is newer than canstock has WAY more images and more downloads, and an agressive plan to improve both downloads and purchases. Makes me think they might establish themselves quite well. I am wondering when the first micro stock company is going to go under. I am guessing gimmestock, or canstock would be the first. I guess it will take a few months or a year to see how fotolia makes out, but I think it looks good and it seems like that have a good business plan

Just signed up too.

Going through about 50+ cd-rs, and at least 100gb of pictures I haven't burned yet looking for a best of 2005 entry and I have culled many stock images for all the sites that I have already signed for :)

nice job faidoi. This new plan for fotolia really rewards a person for uploading all at once.

I guess we will not know how much we get for uploading until the prmo is over!
