I was looking over some of the challenge results and found something very interesting...please follow along my trail of discovery.

I was looking at and froglets remarks about winning two ribbons in a week. So i of course go and look at the other one and it is .

While navigating there i see her previous entry, finished 5th. But that is when i found the secret to her success - read the comments on this last one - On holiday in Reykjavik - after a very relaxing visit to the Blue Lagoon, we stopped off at the power station nearby to try & capture the steam pouring out of the many chimneys & pipes. Jayne is from the UK, but visited iceland and then has a top 5 and two ribbon winners...

So do i have to visit Iceland to get the 'Iceland Effect' or can it be bottled and shipped?

If it can be bottled, I'll take a shipment. Boy do I need it!

I'm listening to Bjork as hard as I can in the hope.....

I'd like some frozen in cubes and shipped with dry ice.
That way I could drink and shoot--something like an Icelandic Joey.

Won't work - I have been a fan for a long time and it ain't going to help - certainly does not in my photos :-)

I would like to say it's the low angle light they get a lot of the year but then that does not account for the indoor shots does it? Probably just the water :-)

Don't you understand? Bjork is Iceland's joke on the rest of the world. Nobody in iceland listens to Bjork because they know it will sap you of your creative strength! They send it out to the rest of the world so they can get all the ribbons.

I went to Iceland some years ago and didn't help me to make good photos...
But I saw in a shop they sell cans of "Fresh air from Iceland". Maybe this can be useful.

OH, maybe it's the mix of the air and water that does it!!!
**hurries off to see where he can buy some of the canned air too!**

Lol! Funny you should link to that site, take a wild guess what I was photographing the first time I broke into the top 10 and broke out of my beginners rut here at dpc. So yes, I guess bottles has something to do with it :D

:-D thank you Prof Fate ! Yes, I blame it all on Iceland - how else can I explain 3 consecutive entries getting me 2 ribbons & a 5th ???!

I don't know about bottling it, but I find it an incredibly inspirational place - I've been there twice now, I recommend that everyone visits, just to get a bit of 'effect' .... !
