I have always used natural light but I want to buy some lighting so I am not limited on my shoots. I found this lighting kit for an affordable price.

My question is; Has anyone used this product and is it worth it as a starter kit? It seems to be a good starter but I don't know.

Any help is appreciated.

There are many here that might be able to better guide you, but since I am the cheapest person alive, I feel I might be able to add something to this.

I bought some cheap 500 W work lights at Home Depot. I had to take them apart to remove the metal cages - no big deal. I don't like them.

As a gift, I received an inexpensive 12" reflector, stand and umbrella that I like lots ( //www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=308804&is=REG&addedTroughType=categoryNavigation ). The only problem with this is that it is large and I don't have much room. It is also overkill for the kind of stuff I usually shoot. I have since purchased a cheap 5" mini boom which I also really like ( //www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=250350&is=REG&addedTroughType=categoryNavigation ).

So, here are my suggestions:
1) find out how much replacement bulbs cost and what there availability is before you buy a light.
2) try to guess how you will be using the light the most and find one to meet those needs.

Good Luck!

I am not sure what your price range is? But I will tell you I have purchased from JandK and they aren't bad (not lights but parts). Do you want something for fun or to last?

I bought the 300 dollar kit last year and just bought my bees this year. It was a cool kit but it left me wanting more. If I was going with one light then I would suggest a reflector and an arm for fill light.
