My friends "decorated" my desk for me at work for my birthday (which is Dec. 16). Decorated really isn't the right word to describe. The first thing I saw was a couple of giant "40" signs and then I saw my cubicle. It was completely wrapped in cellophane. I could see through the wrapping inside and saw that there was more to come.

Once I cut a whole big enough to get into my cubicle, I started to notice that EVERYTHING was wrapped up. They wrapped my monitor, phone, mouse, pictures of my family, my magic 8 ball, a couple of stress balls, a few toys, mouse pad, desk calendar, all the binders in my credenza and much much more.

They put signs up ... "Roses are Red, Violets are Blue, You are Now An Old Fart!", "Now That You're 40, Things Leak, So We Made Your Desk Old Proof." They put that shiny confetti everywhere ... on my desk, in my desk drawers, in my fan, everywhere.

I made have deserved something done since I may have participated in this sort of thing against all of them when they turned 40, but I never did this stuff this bad to them and I was never the ring leader.

Now I know why my buddy wanted me to bring my camera in to work today. y advise to all of you is to never let anyone find out when your birthday is!!!!

Haha! Happy Birthday, old fart! ;)

My boss's boss was telling me about her 30th birthday here (probably 25 years ago). She said she was feeling pretty good about it, had no problem turning 30, etc. Then she came in and everyone was wearing black arm bands and they'd hung black streamers all over her office and made her a black cake and she said by lunch time, she called her husband practically in tears because she was feeling so awful about turning 30! She had a good laugh about it now, though.

I got a policewoman "strip-o-gram" for my 30th. Found it embarrassing then...now - well, can I do it over? ;^)

Hee hee, I love "decorating" cubicles and offices! Happy B-day!

I remember once, years ago, I came in to find that the b-day pranksters had installed a section of cubicle wall into my cubicle doorway, so the only way in was over the top of a 6-foot cubicle wall, LOL.
At my previous job, one of our VPs was known for drinking large quantities of Coca Cola, so on his b-day one year, we bought enough cases of cans to create a wall across his office door.

My "friends" once wrapped my car inside & out - mostly with masking tape (they had access to a LOT of it). I was peeling off tape weeks later and would still find it months later where I forgot to look - wrapped the damn wheel jack, oil filter and all.

Wow, with friends like those, who needs enemas? ;)

Have a happy birthday today and in two days for the real event. Hopefully someone will give you a pair of scissors as a gift. :)

I hate borthdays. Even my family knows not to say anything to me. On that note christmas, new years, easter, and any other holidays just get me sooooooooooo pissed off its not funny. Hopefully you don't become like me. I'm not a person I'd wanna bump into on one of these so called joyeous occassions.

BTW: Happy B-Day

When my first wife turned 40, the people at her office designed a photo birthday card and rented the billboard over the office parking lot, on Main Street, no less.

It's all downhill from here!! Happy Birthday!!

We took plotter paper and closed the opening to my boss' office, then filled it to the top with styrofoam peanuts from the mailroom. He has 9 ft walls on his cube.

I happened to bring my camera with me to work today (for another reason). I did take a couple of pics. I'm hoping the cellophane shows up okay in the pics.

I should mention that one of the people that did this to me was the first victim of our little group of friends. When she turned 40, we covered her cubilce 40 Depends. Some of them had sayings like "40 is half way to 80", "I've fallen and I can't reach my mouse", and many more. I guess after participating in that event against her, I had this coming. She seems very pleased with herself today.

On the one hand I was hoping nothing drastic would be done so I wouldn't have the attention and clean up. On the other hand, at least I friends that care enough to really get me good. :)
