What ever pocessed me? I shot 2 events using RAW and then thinking I dumped the images (veiewed the thumnails) on to the computer flew out the door (and re- formatted the cards) for another 2 events...well...I know what the answer will be,but I lost the first 2 events! I am looking in the camera raw cache and see the time and date of my error...does anyone have a miracle?

Just so I'm understanding you correctly

you didn't copy them to your computer, you just viewed them in adobe bridge directly from the cards and then formatted the cards?

There are utilities out there that can unformat harddrives as long as you haven't written to them, I don't know if that would work on a CF card though - and it definately will not work if you wrote to the cards after formatting.
