Anyone wanna lay bets on how many female vs. male nudes are entered in the contest?

Anyone wanna lay bets that the female nudes on average score higher?

Seemingly it's more acceptable for women to pose nude, and by the same token women seem more comfortable around other nude women. Maybe the boys are scared if they cast a high vote for a picture of a naked man it will indicate they're really a repressed homosexual or something.

I'm not saying I agree with it or anything, I just think that's how it will go.

Anyone know the male to female ratio of the users on this site?

I have no point to this thread...it's just saturday night and my boy is asleep and I've got nothing to do but sit here and ponder the meaningless questions of life.

I'm also curious as to how many of the nudes will be self-portraits, since it seems there is a significant number of dpcers who might night have access to a willing model (or at least not in a week's time).

I just started dating this girl. Don't want to freak her out by asking if I can take nude pictures of her and post them on the internet! If I submit something it will be of my skinny ass.

Or maybe I could shave my legs and shoot at a weird angle...On second thought, that would gross me out too much.

I guess that could be due to 2 main reasons to what you said above:
1. there are more male voters (who likes female bodies more)
2. female bodies are nicer to look at (i think so anyway)

Greenem2, I know what you mean about photographing your girl in nude. In my case, even partial nude freaks her out, LOL :-P

I'd have to agree. We (males) kind of lose out on the attractive attributes list. Women are all soft and pretty and nice, and we're nothing but fur and excess elbow skin. Ah well, i'm going to try to be fair and not give higher votes for those I'd like to meet.

:)

I have a great idea but I just cant get myself to ask people to pose nude for me. What kind of a freak will they think I am??? I've been experimenting with nudes of myself but I'm not ready (nor fit enough) to expose myself like that. Hmmm....maybe I can get a DPCer that lives close to pose for me ;)

I'm not sure the self portrait results bear this out. (And the same speculation was made during that challenge.) I just went through the top 100, and about 25% are female. 4 of the top 10 are female, but I think that at least two of those, and maybe all four, I think rated high base on technical (in one case humorous) merits, not on the looks of the "models". (I'm treading on dangerous gound here!)

And as far as nudes went, there were three male full body nude shots, and only one sort of full body female nude shot (a silloutte of a rear end). There were several females that I suspect were probably nude (if I recall, some even say they were), but the shots were primarily head shots, and the nudity was either masked or implied.

Also, you'd have to go through and figure in the total number of female submissions, which I'm not going to do at the moment anyway. I'm assuming that since after the top 20 or so the ratio evened out at consistently at about 25%, that this is the overall ratio. I could be wrong on that.

So, anyway, we'll see how things turn out on this challenge, but I think that the self-portrait challenge pretty much proves that gender didn't play as big a role in the results as everyone figured it would.
