Those are some great shots. Nicely done. Mine lack that luster of the aerial displays and are simply some fountains that we put off.

I hope everyone had a safe and happy Independence Day this 4th of July or happy Canada Day this past July 1st for those in Canada. Below is my attempt to capture the local fireworks extravaganza -

Just got back from the fireworks display here in Billings, Montana. Tonight was a beautiful evening and there were thousands of people in attendence. We were a little late and didn't get a prime spot, but these are my best taken.

All of you have wonderful firework shots. Mine don't even come close to being as good, but it's fun seeing what others have gotten.

Whew what fun this was! These are my two best shots I think. A lot of them turned out blurry for some reason. I didn't trust the manual focus and kept resetting it so I think a couple times it made things worse. :)

And I like this one because of kind of resembles a tree!

Happy Independence Day!

I have to disagree, the best one is 'Green Red' : )

Well I didn't get nearly as many shots as I wanted. The prime time for taking the shots I was fussing with my camera. I was thinking the worst too. Every time I turned the camera on, the lens would come out and then just go back in once it was all the way out. This happened over and over, so I switched batteries. No luck, same thing. So I switched to a third set.. no luck. At this point I was getting very frustrated and was getting ready to have some choice words with Olympus. But the 4th set of batteries worked. Come to find out that I had 3 sets of dead rechargeables in my bag. They are charging right now :)

Anyway, here are the shots that I did manage to get

Backyard Fireworks at my in-laws neighbors' house

Not as good as the real thing and a hell of a lot harder to capture. They were not consistently going to the same spot. Some were high, some not so high. There was a slight breeze from the west so every one they set off went from L to R. If you are easily disappointed, don't go to the link :)

Here's a couple of mine taken from the same show I got my "At Work" shot:

I like these because they capture some of the "skyline" and give a sense of size when compared to a straight "in air" burst.

Everyone did a great job!
I didn't shoot any :( For once, my husband had the night off so we had fun just watching them together with the kids.
Thanks for sharing all of yours!

Some of the shots posted here are really magnificent -- I don't feel worthy to post my meager shots -- but yet I do:

These were taken this year on 4 July at Qualcomm Statium in San Diego, CA after the Giants beat the Padres.

Qualcomm 2003:

I didn't shoot any fireworks in 2002 -- I just watched the show from the top of our hill, overlooking Poway High School. The year before, I drove to Poway High to watch from the parking lot, While the Qualcomm Stadium shots were 1 second exposures, hand held (because you aren't allowed to bring a tripod or even a monopod into the stadium) the ones from the Poway High parking lot were 4 second exposures from a tripod.
