The Gauntlet - Final Preparations

Things are stacking up nicely! Final Preparations are under way for tonights opening fight.

These images will be randomly distributed to the contestants:

The competitors are in pre-game preparations and rituals getting psyched for the big event.

IMAGE DISTRIBUTION
I will be drawing the images out of a hat and distributing them to the teams. I'm going to make sure that each team does not get an image submitted by one of it's competitors to eliminate potential biases. I will be sending them out at 8:00 PM EST tonight. I have most e-mail addresses, but still need confirmation from the following participant:

Once you've received your image, 'shop till you drop! The rules are that there are no rules! I only ask that you keep your image at least recognizable (no inserting a new image over the old one). You will have roughly 24 hours to complete your task. At 8:00 PM EST Friday night, voting will begin. If you have not submitted your image by this time, you automatically lose the round and must proceed to the next round. You can send your image to me at any time during the 24 hour period, I will not submit the image for voting until the 24 hour period is over.

IMAGE SUBMISSION
Since I will be using my own portfolio space to post the images for voting, I would ask that the images you send to me for voting be re-sized according to DPC challenge regulations.

Once voting begins, e-mail the original uncompressed file to your opponent so that work can begin on the round winner immediately after voting is closed.

VOTING RULES
I have a wife, kid, and job so my time is limited, but I promise to make things as quick and painless as possible. I'll post images as Image A and Image B and create a "voting page" for each group. This will allow voters to vote unbiased. I currently am unable to make voting anonymous, so when you vote, a simple "A" or "B" will suffice on the voting page. If you feel compelled to comment, you may do so, but please do not be offensive. Comments will not be saved.

Voting will be open for 12 hours after the challenge deadline has been reached with only the first 25 votes counting. Gauntlet participants are excluded from voting on their own battle. Vote early if you want your vote counted. I will post the round winner at the end of the 12 hours and begin the next round (honestly, if the contestants want a jump-start, they'll be able to count the votes for themselves).

This will proceed for 5 rounds with the winner being the one who wins the most rounds.

Schedule is as follows (for simplicity):

Thursday night 8:00 PM EST - Begin challenge Round 1
Friday night 8:00 PM EST - End Round 1, begin voting
Saturday morning 8:00 AM EST - End voting, Begin Round 2
Sunday morning 8:00 AM EST - End Round 2, begin voting
Sunday night 8:00 PM EST - End voting, Begin Round 3
Monday night 8:00 PM EST - End Round 3, begin voting
Tuesday morning 8:00 AM EST - End voting, Begin Round 4
Wednesday morning 8:00 AM EST - End Round 4, begin voting
Wednesday night 8:00 PM EST - End voting, Begin Round 5
Thursday night 8:00 PM EST End Round 5, begin voting
Friday morning 8:00 AM EST End Voting, winners announced!

Ken/Art and i were trash-talking each other for an hour or so last night in Fanatics, so we're raring to go. We also made a gentleman's agreement to keep both Godzilla and Karma out of the mix, and I warned him that if he went with woodies I'd counter with duckies, so...

So opponents should also get in touch with each other to swap valid, attachment-worthy, email addresses, if they don't have them visible in their profiles already.

I made mine visible in my profile, so now idnic & pidge can send me all their nude self portraits too.

After further review of the images in the line-up, it has come to my attention that one of them was VERY dark and would probably be difficult to use in comparison to the others. I've substituted with a crappy image out of my candid collection. I hope this is OK with everyone.
