Thanks to everyone who commented and voted on my 'Grumpy Chicken' photo... my wife told me I should have submitted one of these outtakes before the challenge started, maybe I should have listened to her... what do you guys reckon? They have more character but just have little flaws that annoy me...
We were in hysterics looking at these ones!

BTW, to all the pedants who said this was a rooster, not a chicken... isn't a rooster a chicken?!

You submitted the right one - and I loved it, gave it a high score.

I like the second one a lot. :->

Actually, in this particular species of poultry, we have THREE words - a general term, 'chicken,' a male term, 'rooster' or the no-longer-popular 'cock,' and a female term, 'hen.' This isn't true of all species, and then you get problems where 'dog' means both any canine and a MALE canine specifically (when contrasted to 'bitch'). However, chicken is a general term for any gender of that bird. :->

Your chicken(rooster) was funny....
Had to show you mine- unfortunately I took it a day or two before the country theme started. I would have loved to submit this or one of the others I took.
rooster

Why is it I still can't figure out how to insert a photo????

Hi, Terry. First you go to the page where the full-sized image is displayed. Then RIGHT click on the IMAGE...

Then select properties. You'll get a properties box like the one below and you copy the Address (URL) from that...

That's what you paste into the 'insert image' box.

Check your preview before you post. If you've done it correctly, the pix will show there

bob, please don't take offense to this since I'm new, but i notice on your winning photo for black on black (image here), you mentioned rubber stamping the photo.. isn't this prohibited?

Please correct me if im wrong.. thanks..

It would be usually, but the black-on-black challenge was 'all edits legal'.

Ah, I missed half of these posts!
Thanks for your comment on my portfolio, Jon.
I suppose I should have explained that spot-editing was allowed in the Black-on-black entry for the purposes of people who come across it now in the archives.
