I've still got you beat for the brown, tsheets -- and you too, briantammy. :) You know, as I've done challenges (Free Study is my... seventh? I think), I've thought -- just to be in the top 50% would be nice. Then -- ooh, if I were in the top 30%... hit top 20 once and thought, WOW! Second page of results! Awesome! With Free Study, I'm just thinking -- PLEASE not the last page. That's all I ask.
The thing is, I submitted an entry that has a focus flaw, but I thought maybe it was interesting enough to carry past that. *I* still really like it, flaw included; in fact I think it's a little more interesting that way. Obviously the voters disagree. Can't fault them for that... I also can't let it make me doubt myself, because if I start taking photographs just to please the voters, that kind of ruins the whole reason I joined here, which was to inspire me to get out and be creative with my camera. (besides, I tried the 'just to please the voters' on one challenge -- entered something that is not "me" at all -- and it's tanking, with all of 2 comments.).
Anyway. Look at me talk myself into not feeling so awful about totally bombing this challenge. :)

Well said, I have been annoyed at myself for entering a shot that I knew would appeal here but I still think I should have entered something that appealed to me.
It's a funny place here, damned if you do and damned if you don't. |

This was very nice to get home and see, last night it was at 6.0*** and dropping fast, I was expecting 5.5*** so I say a big THANK YOU to the voters, if this keeps on going up I will have a new personal best. Im extremely happy to be this high in a challenge that has some AWSOME pictures in it.

| I've got a fairly decent "score" (for me! I don't reveal, but I'm pleased) and it's remained steady thus far. The weird thing is that I have not one single comment. I can only figure it's a decent photo of a really boring subject. |

All I am beginning to hope for is to be in the top 30% and to get more commentary...I keep wondering if the low scoring is because of calibration on monitors such that the image might appear to dark on other's screens or such....
Stats on my entry have ranged from 5.78 to 6.10. 4 comments to date - pass the comments please, more comments.

I hear ya on the comment front. 132 votes and 0 comments, I can't say I've seen that happen to any of my shots before. I'll be voting on this challenge this weekend as I just finished up on Industrial and Adulthood...
