You can make a lot of money for it. I use //www.shutterstock.com, although they offer only 23 cents. But ifts a good way to make money and it doesn't cost you a thing to do it. If I was you, I would try it out and see if you like it.

Other sites are //www.istock.com and //www.dreamstime.com

Good luck with it. I should be getting my check soon for $75 US which isn't bad considering I put little to no effort into my stock. I only have a small collection.

If you invest time, it does actually pay for the time invested.

Is anybody making any money at Gimmestock? I've got quite a lot of photos there, but haven't made a single sale. I'm seriously thinking of removing them.

So, I shouldn't worry too much about my pics not getting accepted?

I put up about 20 pictures there a few months ago and haven't had a single sale.

I've only had the one sale; they're a new site and they don't seem to have much of a volume of buyers yet. Either things will pick up, or they'll go under - either way I'm not too worried about taking my pictures off there, what harm does it do to leave them somewhere that's not making many sales?

If I followed that logic I'd have removed my DPCPrints portfolio years ago :-)

That is a great point! Maybe I will keep them up there!

I'm in the UK. I picked up a US$100 paypal payment from istock, a US$100 paypal payment from dreamstime just last month, and I'm at US93 on shutterstock, so by Christmas that will be $300 towards a new 5D

Guess I'll have to stick with Gimmestock now - I made my first 2 sales there today. Total $0.80 in about 5 months. At this rate, I might get paid out one day - always assuming I make it into my nineties:)

Maybe ganders is right - they are new and things could pick up. Then again, justmacros didn't last, and I understand there are one or two others that have gone bust too.

Usually you can -- a very few sites require "exclusivity" but most allow you to continue to exploit your photos however you wish.

Note that if you have photos on a Royalty-Free site, it would limit your ability to give a client an "exclusive license" since it's already licensed to others, and it would take time to pull it if you have it on a lot of sites. Link to Shutterstock.

I belong to a few sites but Sutterstock seems to be the best for me. I only have about 70 photos there but make about $25 a month. I need to get off my a** and really start posting there I guess.
