There are many ways to put down the pics and photographers who have failed in dpc. Lowest rated photos, least viewed photos as well least commented photos can be browsed in "Photos" section. Why is that? In my opinion only the best ones should be in ranking lists.

In my opinion, looking at/reading comments on bad images AND good images is the best way to learn. I priase DPC for realizing that.

No-one here is put down or have failed. To be low rated is not failure, it is a need for advice and encouragement. We all get low scores, we all take bad images, but we thrive on help and advice from everyone else.

Nobody fails here at DPC. We all do our best, have fun, and/or simply seek a forum for learning, sharing, and feedback.

Entering challenges is a basis for learning and growth, and, if we do well, a small measure of "fame" and short-term recognition.

Those that do *frequently* well may get more fame and recognition, but it isn't the sole measure of success by any means.

Those that don't do well learn, and in that way, you can only win.

It isn't about failing, it's about being able to have a community to rely on if you want or need it.

Also, if I may make a suggestion, instead of feeding on negativity, why not spend some of that time going through the lower rated photos and offering your own advice and skill to help others.

I see the least viewed and least commented lists as a way to help single out photos that might benefit from more attention, not as a put down. There are tons of users on this site and many are uploading photos frequently. Not every photo is going to be viewed and not everyone wants to start a thread calling attention to their new photo. These lists help point out some of those photos and give those photographers a chance of having their work seen.

Not to be calling you out or anything but an average vote cast of 3.5 seems like kind of an overall putdown, too, don't you think?

Art/beauty are in the eye of the beholder. All photos on DPC are beauty to someone. Personally, if I take a photo I would encourage the criticism, good or bad, to help me move forward and learn.
