I just Fandango'ed 3 tickets for the Goblet of Fire. I absolutely love Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings and A series of Unfortunate Events.

Me and my 2 daughters are going tonight (ages 12 and 7)

Any other 'adult' fans?

I had free tickets that APC sent me for wednesday, but I couldn't get off of work to go. :o(

I would have given them to someone else, but they were non-transferrable. I have to wait until monday morning now.

I certainly don't count as "adult" but I am old enough for that label.

I am a bit of a fan but my oldest is the nut - he keeps hasseling me that it's starting soon. I will no doubt see it in the next week or so.

I am a real fan of LOTR (I hope he makes The Hobit soon, so I can watch the set with the same style) but didn't like Unfortunate Events much.

i was a little disappointed...only b/c it left so much out!

I didnt read the book, but my daughter has. I hope she isn't dissapointed....are the characters all teened out? I hope they follow them into their adulthood. I would find it just as interesting if the main characters were mature.

It can't be as horrid at that last piece of tripe they put out. Did they at least put them back in the original castle?

the castle wasnt as much of a part of this story line....mainly its the tri-wizard tournament.

the kids all get to go to a prom-like dance though (with dates)....so i guess you could call that growing up? harry surely is....lol.

someone once told me "harry is going thru a whiny little bitch phase, but when he gets older, he will be pimpin'!"

i thought it was well put.....

Harry who?

I took the day off, my kids got out of school early and we all went to see the latest HP today.

Absolutely the best so far.

The previous ones were so poorly acted that it was hard for me to watch (and I'm no film critic, I usually don't care much about the acting). This one, however, had much more believable acting in it. And the special effects were awesome without going overboard.

I'm not a big HP fan (my kids are), but this one was fun to see. I recommend it. :-)

Taking the family to a WB private screening of it tomorrow morning at 9. <yawn> Too early for a movie, popcorn and soda, but it's all free.

What about "The Chronicles of Narnia: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe" it's coming out soon?

I am sooo looking forward to that, but I haven't read the books in ages.

Glad to hear the new HP is better since I was really disappointed...actually with the first three, but I loved the books. I had to pace myself in the last two books to make it last--only 1 chapter per night. :)

Yes, The Hobbit would be great too!

Since Peter Jackson is finished with King Kong, he is suppose to be working on "The Hobbit".

Saw it this afternoon with my girls, they had no idea I was taking them. I took them out to 'work' with me and as a reward we were going to the mall to play dress up (where they get to try on all the clothes we can't afford but it's fun to try anyway). I told them to go to the bathroom first and I was going to check on something. I had ordered the tickets on line last night so I went and picked them up.

I go into the bathroom and said, "Girls? You in here?"

"Where else would we be mom?" replied Melissa

"Well, just wanted to make sure because you'll never believe what just happened to me! I was standing there looking at the times for Harry Potter wishing we could go but as you know money is just too tight and this guy walks up to me and hands me three tickets for the 3:45 SHOW! Can you believe that?"

You never saw two girls finish their business and come out of the stall so fast in your life.

"Don't tease us mom, that's not NICE!" said Ellie.

"I'm not teasing, LOOK!" I said as I held up the tickets.

Melissa takes one, looks at it and say, "For real? Some guy just gave them to you, are you sure they are real?"

"For real, isn't that the strangest thing you've ever heard?"

Ellie couldn't even finish a sentence (I seem to be doing that a lot to people lately), "But how....I mean.....Melissa these are......really? HARRY POTTER MOVIE.....??!!"

I laughed and said, "No, I'm kidding, some guy didn't give them to me, I bought them last night on line and just picked them up. Your dad and I talked about it and you two have been so super good about not asking for anything the past month and with the pet sitting job I got for next week he agreed it was a good reward to take you to the movie, do you agree?"

"YEAH!" they both yelled!

On the way back to the theater Ellie asked, "Are you sure this is okay with daddy? It doesn't sound like something he would approve of."

"I'm sure, you can ask him when we get home."

We went in, got out seats and really enjoyed the show. I have read the book, Melissa is on Chapter 20 and Ellie is only on the second book but yes, they cut out a lot of things, just like they have before, it was a 'bit' choppy at times, jumping from one thing to the next but this one, OMG, this one, I was scared, terrified, laughing my butt off and crying, OMG did I cry when Harry got back from the graveyard. The acting is 10 times better than before and the kids aren't all grown up yet, you can tell they are matureing and it's hard to believe they are only supposed to be 14 but then again I have a 13 year old who's taller than me and I'm 5'9" so it wasn't that big a stretch for me, LOL! :)

I loved it, by far the best so far, the next one is going to be a bit more boring if it's like the book, I read that one already too and it was harder to follow.

But to finish off our day, we also had free passes to the neighborhood theater, usually $3.50 to get in and Wallace and Gromit were playing followed by Flight Plan. Melissa decided she didn't want to go to Wallace and Gromit so Ellie and I went, this was 1/2 hour after Harry Potter got out. It was okay, predictable and the dog was by far the best actor, LOL. Then we ran home and grabbed Melissa to go back and watch Flight Plan with Jody Foster. Talk about suspence filled. At one point you think, "It was all her imagination?" But then it starts to really kick in...... I and the girls really enjoyed it.

So we had nothing but movies, movies, movies from 3:45 until 10:30 PM today! Good thing because tomorrow we have to clean house, literally get it all cleaned out and ready for some remodeling.

Went last night at midnight, the premier. Have to say that I slept through half of it though! And I only got an hour and a half of sleep last night before school.
