I had posted more pictures in my Nepal gallery. Please visit and comment if you can find time.

Here are some samples:

And yes...I lost my camera today (don't ask me how as it was very stupid...of course my two lenses was lost too. This came after my hard drive broke down last week.) Should I feel bad? Maybe this is a message to me that I should slow down. Should I? But as of today, I already contacted 2 of my students who have D70 if it's possible to borrow their camera. I will buy a new one (D200: a Christmas present for me) but it won't be soon.

Tomorrow is a wait and see. Maybe it will be returned. If not..I have to move on. In the meantime, I'll take a rest (or can I?)

Just a quick glance. I'm already a huge fan and so far no disappointments here!

My sister and her friend are setting up a Coffee shop / art gallery in Kathmandu. I bet they'd love to give you some gallery space!

Hehehe.

These are the kinds of pictures I keep trying to convince my sister to take. She has such great stories to tell from over there, but I have to pictures to put with the names and places she tells me of.

Great work as always Manny.

Manny! As always Special stuff!!
HORRIBLE NEWS ABOUT YOUR CAMERA!!!!!
No you cannot, should not, slow down! WHY!?
The only silver lining ( if there could possibly be one) is that you deserve an upgrade, but do you HAVE to wait?
and the lenses too? Ugh, painful.
Hope you do get your equiptment back
I'm at a loss for words, don't know how you are taking this so well.

I really hope so. Today is Loy Krathong festival here in Thailand. It is 10 pm now... krathong (something they float in the river) are all lit and beatifully flown in the river. I should have been out there taking pictures.

But I should go out now and float a krathong (my condo is right next to a river). They said that the krathong carries away the bad luck. I had two recently.

D200 is not in the market yet here in Bangkok. Is it already out there in the US. Or maybe I will request my friend in Japan to get it from there.

Oh well...who knows... my D70 camera might make an appearance tomorrow. Wishful thinking.

My sister is now teaching at an International School in Bangkok so I have a renewed interest in your photos...you're still producing great work, Manny!

Not yet, but online sellers are taking pre-orders at $1699 for the body only. No dates given for when it will be available.

Really sorry to hear of your loss Manny. In a way, it is a loss for all of here at dpc who appreciate your work.

images are beautiful, you're a wizard Manny. I think that rather than telling you to slow down the universe is telling you to make room for something better :)

That's a good price. I inquired today in Nikon Thailand... 100,000 baht (around 2500 US). Gosh! An expensive Christmas present.

But what will I do without a camera? I cannot go back to D70 again. I need to upgrade. A bad coping mechanism for the "loss".

I think that's a very normal coping mechanism.

and yet another camera for which you can 'own' the top-rated photo list. :)

i was hoping it would take you a few months to get one so the rest of us might have a shot at it. ah well...second place is a noble goal ;)

I didn't realize Nikon was coming out with the D200. Looks like a lovely camera, and it would make a great Xmas present (go for it, Manny!).

Hmmm .... Christmas presents, upgrades ....

I'm heading over to my insurance agent right now. The policy on the house is due. I also just realized that I now own over $6k of camera equipment. I had part of it ensured on a rider. Now I'm getting my camera and all my lenses except for the 50mm f/1.8 insured for theft/damage. The insurance even covers me if I drop a lens and it breaks. I always like to play it safe.

Hope you get a cam soon Manuel.

Hey Manny, Realy sorry to hear about your camera.
I just looked at your Nepal gallery. Simply Awsome!
I was in Nepal many years ago, and those photos bring back memories. It is an amazing rich and poor land. Thanks for sharing, you have an amazing talent.
