I thought asuka was supposed to be not too bad quality, marksimms?? i haven't seen any of their books mind you, just read different things in forums.

anyone know how queensberry pricing compares to graphistudio? I have a graphistudio price list, but don't know much about queensberry.

Leaf - Asuka are `OK`.. Not stunning, but they do the job (that is, low end, average quality coffee table books). The pages are flimsy and I found that any pages that are `black` seem to attract finger prints. But for a couple on a budget they fill a niche nicely.

Graphistudio is one option I am currently examining, and after talking to other photographers when we was exhibiting at the National Wedding Shows at Earls Court London & the Birmingham NEC I am quite tempted to buy in their samples package and open an account. Their prices are not hugely inflated over the Asuka books either. (leaf, if you PM me then I will send the current Asuka pricelist).

However Queensberry, whilst expensive, actually look and feel expensive. The Albums, when properly designed are absolutely stunning, and although I sound biased, they blew away the competitions offerings, also, out of 25 photographers exhibiting at the shows, only 2 others had Queensberry albums, so they retain a certain degree of exclusivity.

My advice is to shop around and dont settle for only one line of albums, as much as I like the Queensberrys, if something better came along at the right price, then I would consider them..

i have the asuka and graphi studio price lists, just not the queensbury one.

I can't say I have seen it in person, but the flush mount albums frighten me a bit. Can it really look that good, sticking a picture onto a sticky page? I guess if it was 'flush' with the edge it could look pretty good, but the 'do it at home' books that queensbury offered, and the art leather flush mount books leave a 'little' edge around the image.

It seems Asuka requires you to own your own business so for us hobbyist that is not an option.

I'm new to this forum so firstly hello

I am a wedding and portrsit photographer and have been looking at getting some proce lists together for these style of books, I have used some of the cheaper companies and the results are nice but nothing compared to Graphistudio or queensbury.

I have applied for pice lists for the above 2 companies but as yet have heard nothing back, could anyone give me an example price list for Graphi studio, Queensbury or sim2000 imaging?

Thanks

I have a queensbury price list for UK, and they seem pretty expensive, although their quality is pretty nice too.

Their started kit is £250.

I used them and I was not impressed at all with the print quality. Read the description of how they print their books. To me it sounds like the same quality my 100 dollar Epson all in one does....

From the Blurb site:
Commercial-quality, 4-color printing

My Epson uses 4 color printint too. And the blurb book looked like it came from an Epson all in one. The dust cover was cool, but beyond that.....big thumbs down!

Has any one used Blurb.com. It looks like great value and you can have a vast number of pages

161-200 for $47.95
301-440 for $79.95

Even with shipping to the UK this still appears to be an attractive offer.

So I'm wondering, what's the best solution out there?

I, of course, want a good quality solution. But it is going to have to be affordable (to my customer) and priced such that I can make a profit too.

Any recommendations out there?

Do you mean a flush-mount album or a coffee table book? What you are describing is a style more than a type of book.

Flush mount (often called digital flush mount) is like artleather's iMount deluxe or cache, H&H Color Labs' Black Tie albums (not their coffee table books) or GP ALbums Ultra, TAP superior mount - regular photos mounted to a cardboard page.

Coffeetable are paper pages, usually with a hard cover. Asuka is good, but apollo photo's Illuma books are excellent as are H&H's coffee table books.

The information in this forum is online indefinitely and therefore might be helpful for people with similar questions that browse old threads.

I might have gotten the link wrong, its: //www.sweetmemoryalbums.com/albums/fc/index

As a reminder, the link refers to a website that offers printing services of flush mount photo albums to retail customers.

It's just your post seems a lot like spam. You are new here, found a long dead thread, sign up for a free account, make one posting with a link to a website selling something.
When questioned, you again state that it's (the site) is selling stuff...be that a warning or an endorsement I don't know. It's just that it hit my radar in a bad way I suppose. I guess if you were spamming us you'd have gotten the link right :P

Seems to be a german company, do they ship to the US or are europe only?

Thanks for giving me the benefit of the doubt! They also ship to the US.

Hi,

Know this thread is a little old at this point but thought I'd see if there is any further interest.

The owner of our giclee studio worked selling the presses that print photobooks for four years. We have created a new product that is a whole different level of quality than the press books referred to in this thread but at a price close to that of press printed books.

We've also come out with a Photo Giclee print that is a level in quality beyond AgX but offering them at the same price as AgX prints from the photo labs. We are also experts in color science and will help our customers to also be experts.

Our new website doesn't launch till June 15th but you can contact us and we are happy to send you all the info.

Regards,

Artful Color
