Have I gone over the edge?

LOL! Is it just me or she has a striking resemblance to JLo? Sheesh!

edit: When Jlo was "thinner" that is :D

The thumbnail look superb!! When I open the larger size, the sharpness of the eyeball contrasts a bit too much against the softness of her skin (IMO).

Beautiful lighting and a very ethereal glow about her.

Way too hard on the plastic NeatImage.

Neat, but a bit to much on the neat image for my taste as well.

NI is one of those things you either love or hate.. If used subtly I don't mind it so much, but I personally don't like the plastic look.

Your model has a great face structure though...

My 2c. :-).

Beautiful bone structure.....gorgeous model!

I love the photo but too much sharpening makes her look a bit plastic! She is gorgeous though and it's a great photo! Just reduce the NI or whatever you used and it'll be sweet! :)

Thanks guys! That was exactly my point for this exercise. Oversharpen and tip toe at that line of digital art :)

I'm sure my friend will appreciate the comments about her being gorgeous and all :)

And she is.

Too much commercial for my eye. The editing may be bad but the photograph looks genius that's for sure.

Looks like an animation cell. If that's what you were shooting for, congrats! NI does make it look very "plastic" when overdone.

It's pretty sweet though ;)

Okay, if you're friends with Charlize Theron we need to arrange a photo shoot!

Damn! You just missed it by a couple of days buddy!

You aren't tip toeing with the line of digital art...you are over the line and about 10 rows into the stands. ;)

Her eye looks funny. Did you add the catchlight? It's all weird shaped. I don't really know much in the technique of doing faces like this, but I would make the eye more realistic as a whole which may fool people into thinking the skin is more realistic.

Hehehehe! You might be right Doc. I've never done anything like this before so this is a first for me as well. Just always experimenting... that's me ;)

The catchlight is natural but maybe I oversharpened it way too much that it got all medieval on me. I'll rework the eyes tonight when I get home and we'll see how it works.

The skin is borderline IMHO. It's just a bit too smooth. No one has products that good to hide minor blemishes and all.

Remember your Red Ribbon winning shot? Well, it's pretty much what happened here in terms of NI post processing.

I love that effect. Don't think I'm a poo-pooer of digital art. I love it although I haven't had time to goof around as much since I've been a slave to basic and advanced editing.

I am sorry, but I disagree. This looks like a VERY well executed portrait of a very beautiful alien.

Part 2 of my Aeon installments:

I took it down a notch. As before, this is an experiment in "plasticity". This time, it's more high contrast almost high key.

I guess the high key effect reduces the plastic look that NI gives it. I like this one though. It looks cool!

re:the first one... I quite like the crazy, digital art/ mannequin effect - but I think it's a little ruined because of the softness in the eye. If you could manage to keep the eye sharp but apply the NI to the rest of the shot I think it would be vastly more effective.

I sort of like it as a experiment. The second one is better, it as a definite "style" on it. Maybe if you left the eye out of the process, we could have something interesting...

I like it too that's why I continue to do it :) It's just a good way of seeing what can happen once someone over uses NI.

You have to admit, they are very poster-like almost ad type imagery ;)
I'm glad you like it ;)

It's also interesting to note that the first Aeon image that I uploaded 2 days ago is the 7th most viewed image in my portfolio. It has only been two days folks ;)
