Difficult to pick a single landmark for Melbourne - probably the most well known image is Flinders Street station

It's not exactly a city ;), but here's my area's most-recognizable landmark:

(Half Dome, Yosemite National Park)

The only full-scale "landmark" on the Cape, other than lighthosues and the bridges over the canal, is the Pilgrim Monument in Provincetown, the tallest free-standing masonry structure in America:

Orginially built for Expo '67 I think. Feel free to correct me. It's the Montreal Biosphere. I would put one of Olympic Stadium but I don't have one. Biosphere is currently a water research place/museum I believe

Half Dome is certainly recognizable :-) Lucky you to live there. I used to teach in Yosemite in the summers, for a bit.

I always thought of a landmark as being a man-made structure placed in the landscape, but I suppose that's a fairly limiting POV :-) Nice shot!

My town is the birthplace of Audie Murphy, WWII's most decorated soldier.

Home, sweet home... I think I've seen that statue literally 1000 times. I lived on Point Loma growing up and for much of my adult life after myw anderigns were over.
