Hi-ho,

Interesting....

In any case, my quest to become a getty girl is stillborn, I've not had a responce to two emails sent to the contact email for asia/pacific. I might call their local office and see if I can get rejected in person. :-).

Cheers, Me.

Heres a little something else about Getty and their accepted files at the Rob Galbraith Forums. Seems to me that if all else fails, use a fairly good program to uprez, and then strip out your EXIF so they'll never know what you shot with :)

I think you have a great selection of photos, however using the site was very slow. Is there anyway to reduce the sizes to have a quicker loading time?

Sorry, missed this post. I know they load slowly, but the requirements for application asked for LARGE (if not full-sized) images for them to review.

BTW, still no word from Getty, its been 3 weeks and a couple of days.

Their weed-out process is patience. Hold strong.

Those bastards and their hazing process.

Oooooooooooooooookay! After almost TWO MONTHS!!!.... I got this email today:

Dear Cindi,

Thank you for your submission to Getty Images, and giving us the opportunity to review your imagery. However, after careful consideration, our submission review team has decided that your work does not match our needs at this time. You may like to consider getting in touch with PACA (The Picture Archive Council of America), at www.stockindustry.org, who will be able to direct you to other Stock Agencies who might be interested in reviewing your images.

We wish you every success with your imagery.

Sincerely,

Getty Images’ Introductory Submission Team

Atleast I tried! Perhaps I'll try again, but not right away. I need to work on portfolio it seems! :) On a better note, got my first L-glass today (70-200 F4) :)

That's right.

I looked at their site: Crap. All crap. They're not good enough for your work, you would have brought them to a level they couldn't maintain.

oh-
Have fun with your new glass :)

Getty's very, very hard to get into. Don't take it personally. At least you tried, more than I've done.

2 Years and 2 months later.... it has happend. I'm accepted. :D

I reapplied a few months ago. Application process is still slow plus I made an error and sent them a couple of images that are on Alamy. They checked and while accepted my application, insisted on a 2nd set of application images. I've sent them, they were accepted. I now have access to the contributor area... its like the exectutive wash room! They have french soap! :D

Edited poor grammar.

I thought you said fresh soap. Personally, I've always hated using old soap.

Congrats!! :D
