Wow, your list is 28 people. Neuferland makes 29, and mesmeraj makes 30. 30 people, 30 days. That is of course, if nobody else joins by tomorrow, (and please do!), I just notice the 30/30 thing.

Yup our list sits at 30 :)

Well I've got day one done, though I'm not sure I'm totally happy with my photo - haven't downloaded it from the camera yet, so I've not seen it properly. The good thing about stuffed animals is that they do exactly what you want them to.

During my efforts I discovered that I've been abusing my flash - somehow I'd forgotten about fill flash, far less harsh than using on-camera flash (the only kind I've got) as the only real light source. So even if the picture's not great, I've already benefitted from this challenge.

Thats what this is about... learning
If you dont like somethign about the pic...retake it, otr think how you would do it differently ... change some things about the day befores pic and take it again :) at least you can go outside your home... a house cat and outside doesnt bode well rofl one of the things i did do before was when i had an idea i wrote it down that way i didnt forget it, and had it for thoe days that i coudlnt think of anything else

Makes me want to find a taxidermist ;) ...
Spent most of today taking pics of white/black/brown blurs.

Well i have taken some photos for my second day. It's a lot harder this time to choose which one , might have to draw a number out of a hat:(
Something which I have found helpful is too use the burst mode and aslo (thouigh some purists will be horrified!) to use the sports or action mode on the camera.
Even though I wont as I know it is'nt apprpriate I have an outake that would have been great except I cut of part of her ears!

My webpage has been set up, Day #1 photo taken...lets hope it lasts for the full 30 days...

First day done. I think I'm going to learn a lot from this. I'm keeping a diary of what I learn each day and what to try differently the next day.

Lessons learned today:
1. If your only light source is on one side you get shadows on the other side.
2. If you don't use a flash, you need more than one 100 watt bulb to make your white background look white.

Do differently tomorrow:
1. Use two light sources, one on each side
2. Keep subject further from background

I'm going to take several shots each day and choose which one I like best as the photo for the day.

My "pet" doesn't move so it will be easier for me than for those of you with the high energy variety.

Good luck all

Faye

yeah, add me too. I'll take 'em of my cat.
11/07/2005 11:38:13 PM · #123
I was going to do my cat but chose the stuffed variety of animal for ease of posing wherever I feel like. Kitty's too big to sit on the banister (or other locations I may choose) and wouldn't stay long enough for a shot anyway.
