If by this you are expressing your opiniuon that the winning images aren't especially "delicate", as in ephemeral, gauzy, light, without substance, maybe re-reading the challenge description will help explain the voting:

"Delicate" can mean so many things; easily damaged, easily wounded, ephemeral, finely made, difficult to handle, the list is long. What do YOU see when you picture the concept? Show us your delicate side.

I applaud the voters for being as open on this one as the description was :-)

no issue with the title, and FULLY understand it

yet some REALLY poor images in the top 10

beyond me, it really is

Looking at your profile it appears you are a tough one to please. ;^)

Seems you didn't think the 'Pride' results were up to snuff either...(from your Pride entry):

ah well, did as about as well as i expected it too - with images that do NOT show pride coming in the top spots.

nice photos and all, but half of them don't show the subject.

lets just all take random nice pics, which could be vaguely/badly misinterpreted for the challenge, and enter :P

Guess it boils down to a matter of personal preference.

interesting, dr3amz, that you only mark comments as being helpful when they flatter you. just noticed that while trying to figure out why you're so angry.

what would be interesting, is that if you were a psycho-therapist - how long would you last in your job? my bet - not long :)

i appreciate all USEFULL comments - good or bad.

Here's an example of a total waste of a comment however, and something that yes - i will refuse to think of as `usefull`

' . substr('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_challenge/396/thumb/246513.jpg', strrpos('//images.dpchallenge.com/images_challenge/396/thumb/246513.jpg', '/') + 1) . '

I'm not sure about the color of frame...

well **** me sideways, i'm sure as hell glad i didnt enter a baby photo into a `delicate` challenge.

Canon EOS-300D Rebel 10/26/2005 10:07:52 PM

when the contest was announced, I wondered how many babies, and flowers would be photographed. very nice picture!!....but lacks originality

Other way here - positive feedback - but i didnt find any part of the comment useful, lacks originality - but then so does a ropey shot of a spiders web with water on it.

I'll see how my other entires do, i've admittedly entered some rather average shots (obsolete, what? - although what? was rather clever, but perhaps a bit beyond people who seemed tied up in trying to take a picture of someone/something saying `what` - a picture of a horse bearings its teeth hardly wins `what?` for me - its obvious `what` it is - and thats the whole point, it shouldne be - lets just all take portraits/landscapes and enter them into any challenge).

Oh my

somebody is awfully whiney today. And I thought my almost 5yo daughter was the queen of whine! You make her look like an angel lol.

well you want to accuse me of checking only positive feedback as usefull - i'm showing you i don't :-)

I'm not accusing you of anything but whining lol.

I was not whining
merely asking why it scored as low as it did, and I've marked all the comments- or the ones I've seen thus far as helpful- and ALL of them were constructive criticism- I even marked the blunt one that I found somewhat harsh as helpful so THERE! :0P

Look forward to seeing more future submissions from you, perhaps you may try the Garbage II challenge or someother one, to show us some originality?

I was happy with my finish in this challenge because I could see the picture as others do.. the subject of mine was unique and good.. however the lighting sucked, and I realize that. I'm sure I could have scored better if the photo was technically "better". your baby picture has a nice "subject" but isn't really nice to look at (no offence). I think if the lighting/pose was different it could be a winning photo, but just like mine, as is, it's just not ribbon material on this site.

I finished 51st....

Just so you know.
