Each year the provincial government has a photo contest, this year our province is celebrating it's 100th anniversary so the photo contest was bigger and better than before with slightly better prizes and more hoopla.

Over 1700 photographs were submitted to the contest and much to my surprise and delight, one of my photographs was chosen as the grand prize winner.

I am attending the ceremony at our legislative building today at 2pm to collect my prize.

Here is the link to the winning entries.

Very nice work - the sky really makes the shot. Do you win anything?

Beautiful shot, I noticed that the copyright notice on the enlarged version read "Photograph copyright © 2005 Government of Saskatchewan", I hope you were compensated in some way (considerably if you signed your copyright away on the shot). Congratulations.

Thank you...

Yes I did win a new computer system supplied by microsoft but I will not have any details until after I pick it up, and also there are several other prizes as well.

I'll post more this afternoon.

They got a non-exclusive right to use that photo, when the image becomes part of their regular web site and wherever else they use the photograph they will give full accreditation to the photographer, or so they say.

Looks like the images have been removed. When I click on the thumbnails a message comes up saying no such image.

Congrats. I tried to click on it and the window it opened said "Error: No such image." It lookes like a great photo too.

I got the same message too, no such image when I tried to see the larger version. It applies to other images as well. Love the sky colours behind the sunflowers. Beautiful!

Yes it is doing the same for me too, that's odd.

Thank you everyone for your kind words I appreciate it very much, this is the first time I've ever entered and or won a photo contest, perhaps now I will have the courage to try again.

I'll update soon as to the prize.
